This study is executed to see the relationship comprehension reading program NILAM with of achievement among Malay language subject in the study. The subject of the study consisted of 165 people 6 years old student from a school that is selected in Ipoh, Perak. Instruments used to gather data about comprehension scale reading is the one who was adapted and translated which was developed by McLain, Gridley, and Mcintosh (1991), called Index Reading Awareness to gather data about the achievement the ability to understand something that consists of one exam in the form of a subjective understanding the consist from 10 passage. Instruments to gather data on the achievement of Malay language is comprised of one operation School Lowest Rating of Term 2 (2008), One critical issue is also used to collect background data on the subject. This study also analyzed using program "Statistical Package for Social Science" or " Pakej Statistik Untuk Sains Sosial (SPSS) version 11.0. As the result of an investigation a major study shows that there is a significant relationship between the Index Reading Awareness involves reading comprehension with test scores comprehension. In addition, there is a correlation in phase between the test scores with achievement comprehension Malay. The result of an investigation also shows that there is no significant relationship between the Index of Reading Awareness the factors of sex, nation, language, and achievement examination in the Malay language in schools. |
