Transformasi pendidikan pada abad ke-21 menekankan penggunaan teknologi sebagai pasak perantaraan dalam mencapai keberhasilan pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP). Teknologi kecerdasan buatan atau dikenali sebagai Artificial Intelligence (AI) sedang digunakan dengan meluas dalam dunia pendidikan, sejajar dengan perkembangan Revolusi Industri (RI) 4.0. Teknologi kecerdasan buatan ini sesuai untuk diintegrasikan dalam bidang pendidikan yang melibatkan proses perancangan dan pengajaran guru di peringkat rendah mahupun di peringkat menengah. Makalah ini menggariskan keperluan penggunaan AI dalam membantu memudahkan proses perancangan dan pengajaran guru sejarah di sekolah. Ia turut memberi fokus kepada satu aplikasi AI yang dikenali sebagai ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer) yang bertindak sebagai sebuah model bahasa generatif. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui pembacaan yang mendalam terhadap bahan literatur yang relevan serta analisis terhadap penggunaan aplikasi kecerdasan buatan iaitu ChatGPT. Penggunaan AI dalam pendidikan berfungsi sebagai perantara yang mampu memudahkan proses perancangan mahupun pengajaran guru. Namun begitu kajian ini mendapati AI disepadukan dengan baik. Ringkasnya, guru perlu menggunakan kepakaran dan kemahiran bagi mencapai objektif pembelajaran yang ditetapkan. Pengintegrasian teknologi kecerdasan buatan seperti ChatGPT dengan teknologi sedia ada juga secara tidak langsung dapat menjadi pemudahcara bagi penghasilan bahan bantu mengajar yang bersifat kreatif serta bervariasi.
