Bagi kajian reka bentuk dan pembangunan modul, kajian analisis keperluan sangat penting dilaksanakan bagi meneroka keperluan guru sebagai pengguna modul. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneroka keperluan membangunkan modul pengajaran kemahiran bacaan awal braille bagi kanak-kanak ketidakupayaan penglihatan prasekolah. Analisis keperluan ini dijalankan ke atas empat orang guru prasekolah pendidikan khas ketidakupayaan di Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kaedah temu bual separa berstruktur bagi mendapatkan pandangan dan idea dalam pengajaran kemahiran bacaan awal braille berdasarkan Model Ketidaksesuaian McKillip. Dapatan kajian telah mengenal pasti empat utama iaitu: (1) Cabaran semasa pengajaran kemahiran bacaan awal braille; (2) Kaedah pengajaran kemahiran bacaan awal braille; (3) Keperluan pembangunan modul kemahiran bacaan awal braille dan (4) ciri-ciri modul kemahiran bacaan awal braille. Dapatan analisis keperluan ini menunjukkan bahawa modul kemahiran bacaan awal braille mempunyai keperluan untuk dibangunkan bagi mengatasi cabaran yang dihadapi oleh guru prasekolah dalam pengajaran kemahiran bacaan awal braille. Kajian ini juga diharapkan dapat membantu pengkaji dalam penghasilan modul yang berkualiti serta dapat menyelesaikan cabaran yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam pengajaran kemahiran bacaan awal braille bagi kanak-kanak prasekolah. Hal ini selari dengan Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan 4 (SDG 4) yang menggalakkan pendidikan inklusif yang berkualiti dan adil bagi semua kanak-kanak.
