Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun
The current study aimed to verify the model fits of the assumed structural model of the relationship between the dimensions of psychological well-being and emotional intelligence and its role as a mediator in achieving professional compatibility among primary school female teachers in the Sultanate of Oman. The study included the psychological well-being scale, the emotional intelligence scale, and the professional compatibility scale. The scales were adapted and evaluated by experts in education according to the current study's circumstances and nature. The study sample consisted of 450 primary school female teachers in the Sultanate of Oman. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 24) and the AMOS Software, version 24 program were used to ensure the quality of the study model; specifically, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied to answer the research questions. The study results: There is a relationship between the dimensions of psychological well-being and emotional intelligence; the highest correlation was 0.39 between environmental proficiency and emotional intelligence, and the lowest correlation was 0.18 between personal growth and emotional intelligence. There is a relationship between the dimensions of psychological well-being and professional compatibility. The highest correlation was 0.35 between environmental proficiency and professional compatibility, and the lowest correlation was 0.29 between self-acceptance and professional compatibility. There is also a positive and direct effect between the dimensions of psychological well-being (environmental proficiency, personal growth, and purposeful living) on emotional intelligence. And there is no direct positive effect of the dimensions of psychological well-being (independence, positive relationships, and self-acceptance) on emotional intelligence. The results also concluded that emotional intelligence is considered as a mediator of the relationship between the dimensions of psychological well-being which represented by environmental proficiency, personal growth, and purposeful life, and that emotional intelligence is not considered a mediator of the relationship between the dimensions of psychological well-being represented by independence, positive relationships, and self-acceptance.
