This study was undertaken to examine whether graphic organizer instruction facilitate comprehension and transfer of information in summary writing. A review of student responses to graphic organizer indicates a general acceptance of the tool. A pre-test and post-test design was used to investigate the effects . of explicit instruction on the use of graphic organizer on students' ability to gain summary writing ability, The results lend support for using graphic organizers with students as it showed that the method enhanced text comprehension and summarization abilities which improved significantly
