Generally, parents who go to work would prefer their children to be with their grandparents due to blood relationship, trust, and experiences. Such parenting service could become more essential when they could not find responsible housemaids or child minders. However, Grandparents' personal characteristics and family demographics influence children's nutrition attitudes, emotional wellbeing, lifestyles, learning activities, social skills, and others. Additionally, grandparents do shape the children's behavior and educational performance in preschool. Consequently, these influences can be detrimental or advantageous to the children's personal characters. In fact, how the grand-parenting role is played could have a significant impact on the lifestyle of children academically, socially, and emotionally. Based on the literature review, academic research about grandparenting influence on preschool children in Malaysia seems to be very limited; hence, this study aimed to give an insight into grandparents' influence on grandchildren' development in the country applying a mixed method approach to analyze data collected from selected respondents from two states in Malaysia, namely, Ipoh and Wilayah. The analysis results indicated that grandparents do shape the children's behavior and educational performance in preschool. Consequently, how the grand-parenting role is played have a significant impact on the lifestyle of grandchildren academically, socially, and emotionally. Precisely, grandparents' influence on grandchildren is oblivious in the following aspects; morality, language, education, religion, culture, internationalization, superstitions, socialization and economic.
