This research is aimed to explain the elements of thinking from the Theory of Integrated Thought System 4K: perspective, elements of lessons, and values in the prose passage of Malay traditional literature. The Malay traditional prose passages / text studied are from Antologi Sehijau Warna Daun (Form 1), Antologi Seuntai Kata untuk Dirasa (Form 2), Antologi Anak Bumi Tercinta (Form 3), Antologi Anak Laut (Form4) and Antologi Kerusi (Form 5) which accumulate 20 articles. The researcher uses qualitative theoretical framework which is library research which analyses the texts from the extracts / articles. The research methodology which is carried out using the Theory of Integrated Thought System 4K which are spiritual thinking, wisdom thinking, scientific thinking and creative thinking. These thinking's are applied by the researcher in three aspects of discussion to achieve the purpose of the research which is to identify the elements of thinking in the Theory of Integrated Thought System 4K in the Malay traditional literature, to know the elements of teaching and to identify the values of traditional Malay literature by using the afore-mentioned theories and to suggest to the Malaysian Ministry of Education to use the findings of this research as a technique in the teaching and learning of the Malay traditional prose as well as literature from form 1 to form 5. The findings show that traditional Malay prose is able to generate the readers thinking of balance, enumeration, conscientious opinion and thought of mind in problem solving. In addition the study found that the elements of traditional Malay prose support the ideas of integrated thinking are among the four thinking skills. Furthermore, the study also found that the elements of traditional Malay prose can inculcate good values in four thoughts and give preference in integrated features and discover the good characteristics in human. Some of the recommendations for further research have been forwarded to the Ministry of Education such as to include / insert more complete extracts from Malay traditional prose, to choose extracts which have more values and lessons, to replace the Malay traditional texts with a chronicle text for all forms and to create a friendly e-study program for literature in studying the Malay traditional prose. Some of the recommendations for the 2010 and 2011 researchers to be done further, include studies on the perspective of prose narrative elements of the traditional Malay literature and prose with more emphasizes on the moral values. |
