Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti kompetensi moral murid tingkatan empat di daerah Dalat, Sarawak untuk menangani isu tingkah laku moral. Kajian kuantitatif ini menggunakan reka bentuk kajian tinjauan untuk menjawab empat persoalan kajian dan empat hipotesis. Instrumen Moral Competency Inventory (MCI) yang diubahsuai telah digunakan untuk mengukur komponen Pengetahuan Moral, Pertimbangan Moral, Emosi Moral dan Perlakuan Moral. Seramai 199 orang murid iaitu 81 lelaki dan 118 perempuan dipilih secara rawak berlapis untuk dijadikan responden. Analisis statistik Ujian-t menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan kompetensi moral dengan jantina dan aliran tingkatan. Hasil keputusan ANOVA sehala juga menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan kompetensi moral dengan tahap pendidikan dan sektor pekerjaan ibu bapa. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa, murid tingkatan empat daerah Dalat, mempunyai kompetensi moral yang tinggi dan aspek pengetahuan, penaakulan, perasaan dan perlakuan menyumbang kepada kompetensi moral. Implikasi kajian menunjukkan, kompetensi moral yang tinggi dijangka dapat membentuk tingkah laku moral murid sekolah menengah. Kajian yang lebih mendalam dan meluas perlu dilaksanakan untuk menilai kesan kompetensi moral terhadap amalan moral murid sekolah menengah.
