Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris |
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi
mekanisme penerimaan sokongan sosial terhadap tahap kesihatan mental atlet yang
merangkumi masalah kemurungan, kebimbangan dan stres khususnya dalam
kalangan atlet pelajar di Sekolah Sukan Malaysia. Pengkaji menggunakan pendekatan
kuantitatif dengan menggunakan teknik persampelan rawak berstrata untuk memilih
300 orang atlet pelajar daripada tiga buah sekolah sukan. Atlet pelajar yang terlibat
dalam kajian ini adalah (lelaki = 158, perempuan = 148). Satu set borang soal selidik
yang mempunyai tiga bahagian iaitu bahagian A, faktor demografi. Bahagian B,
Perceived Social Support Questionnaire (PSS-Q) dan bahagian C, Depression Anxiety
Stress Scale (DASS) digunakan dalam proses pengumpulan data. Dapatan kajian
menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara sokongan sosial
daripada keluarga terhadap kemurungan (r = -.36, p < .01) dan kebimbangan (r = -.32,
p < .01). Selain itu, terdapat juga hubungan yang signifikan antara sokongan sosial
daripada keluarga (r = -.27, p < .01) dan jurulatih (r = -.21, p < .01) terhadap stres.
Manakala, sokongan sosial daripada rakan tidak mempunyai hubungan yang
signifikan terhadap kemurungan (r = -.19, p < .01), kebimbangan (r = -.15, p < .05) dan
stres (r = -.14, p < .05). Kesimpulannya, sokongan sosial daripada keluarga sangat
mempengaruhi status kemurungan (β= -.34, p= .00), kebimbangan (β= -.30, p= .00)
dan stres (β= -.22, p= .00) dalam kalangan atlet pelajar. Selain itu, sokongan sosial
daripada jurulatih juga mempengaruhi status stres (β= -.13, p= .04) dalam kalangan
atlet pelajar. Implikasi kajian ini dapat memberi input kepada keluarga dan jurulatih
tentang kewujudan masalah kesihatan mental dalam kalangan atlet pelajar. Keluarga
dan jurulatih seharusnya menyedari peningkatan masalah ini serta membantu atlet
pelajar mengatasinya secara berkesan. |
