Kajian mengenai penggunaan emoji sebagai salah satu bentuk ekspresi emosi sebelum ini sangat terikat dengan pengkategorian emoji berasaskan ciri yang tipikal seperti persamaan dari segi makna, fungsi dan nilai. Kajian ini menjelaskan pemahaman makna penggunaan emoji yang mengiringi ekspresi emosi [marah] dalam rangkaian media sosial khususnya melalui www.facebook.com. Pemahaman makna penggunaan emoji yang mengiringi ekspresi emosi marah dianalisis berpandukan pendekatan disiplin linguistik korpus. Hasil analisis menunjukkan penggunaan emoji yang mengiringi ekspresi emosi [marah] telah membentuk konsep makna marah seperti [meluat], [mengamuk], [benci], [takut], peristiwa dan tindakan. Kajian ini diyakini mampu memperjelaskan fenomena penggunaan bentuk visual emoji, reaksi wajah dan ekspresi emosi [marah] dalam kalangan komuniti siber.
