Buku teks merupakan salah satu dokumen yang menyokong proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran sebagai panduan dan sumber rujukan kepada sukatan kurikulum yang piawai dan seragam. Buku teks membantu proses pembelajaran dengan menyediakan contoh dan aktiviti kepada pelajar. Kajian ini bertujuan meneroka persembahan isi kandungan topik Ungkapan Algebra dan Rumus Algebra dalam buku teks Matematik Tingkatan 1 dan Tingkatan 2 merangkumi standard kandungan dan standard pembelajaran, penerangan konsep, aplikasi teknologi dan ciri matematik. Kajian juga bertujuan mengenal pasti aktiviti dan latihan berdasarkan konstruk, objektif pentaksiran dan aras kesukaran.
Analisis anekdot digunakan untuk memaparkan dapatan persembahan isi kandungan secara naratif, manakala sebanyak 133 aktiviti dan latihan telah dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan Microsoft Excel 365. Dapatan menunjukkan bahawa standard kandungan dan standard pembelajaran disusun mengikut aras kesukaran dengan menyerlahkan penerangan dan pengembangan konsep, aplikasi teknologi Geogebra dan aplikasi model Polya dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematik. Manakala, lebih banyak aktiviti dan latihan dalam kedua-dua topik ini berada dalam konstruks pengetahuan dan kefahaman dengan aras kesukaran sederhana.
Maka, kajian ini harus dilihat sebagai satu kajian yang signifikan dalam penambahbaikan soalan aras tinggi pada masa akan datang untuk membentuk pemikiran yang kritis dan kreatif dalam kalangan pelajar. Kajian lanjutan terhadap analisis aktiviti dan latihan yang memfokuskan kepada tahap penguasaan boleh dijalankan untuk membantu pentaksiran dalam bilik darjah yang lebih sistematik.
