Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris |
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan hubungan pengetahuan konseptual dan
pengetahuan prosedural dengan sikap terhadap matematik murid Tingkatan Empat.
Penumpuan diberikan kepada aspek sikap yang terbahagi kepada empat iaitu
keselamatan, nilai, motivasi dan keseronokan. Pengukuran aspek pengetahuan adalah
berdasarkan Ujian Pengetahuan Konseptual (UPK) dan Pengetahuan Prosedural (UPP).
Pengukuran aspek sikap pula menggunakan instrumen Attitude Towards Mathematics
Inventory (ATMI) yang terdiri daripada 40 item berskala Likert. Seramai 350 orang
responden telah dipilih daripada lima buah sekolah menengah harian biasa di Daerah
Petaling Utama, Selangor sebagai sampel kajian. Data kajian telah dianalisis
menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensi. Hasil korelasi Pearson menunjukkan
terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan konseptual dan pengetahuan
procedural dengan sikap terhadap matematik. Seterusnya, menerusi analisis regresi
pelbagai, dapatan menunjukkan bahawa elemen sikap keselamatan dan keseronokan
mempengaruhi pengetahuan matematik murid. Kesimpulannya, sikap terhadap
matematik mempengaruhi pengetahuan matematik murid Tingkatan Empat. Implikasi
daripada kajian ini, sikap terhadap matematik murid perlu ditingkatkan bagi membantu
murid menguasai pengetahuan prosedural dan mengukuhkan pengetahuan konseptual
matematik sedia ada. |
