Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenalpasti corak Orientasi Matlamat serta kaitannya dengan penglibatan pelajar 15 dan 18 tahun lelaki dan perempuan dalam aktiviti sukan di daerah Keningau, Sabah. Responden kajian adalah seramai 300 orang (lelaki 18 tahun =75, lelaki 15 tahun =75, perempuan 18 tahun =75, perempuan 15 tahun =75). Penyelidikan dijalankan dengan menggunakan "Task and Ego Orientation in Sports Questionnaire" (TEOSQ: Duda & Nicholls, 1989). Dengan menggunakan min dan sisihan piawai, Ujian Anova Sehala dan juga korelasi, secara keseluruhannya dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa corak Orientasi matlamat responden bawah umur 15 tahun dan bawah umur 18 tahun lelaki dan perempuan yang dikaji lebih cenderung kepada orientasi matlamat berdasarkan tugasan berbanding orientasi matlamat berdasarkan ego (Tugasan m=4.40, SD=.18, Ego m=2.32, SD=.28). Dari keempat-empat pecahan kategori umur, responden yang berumur bawah 15 tahun lelaki menunjukkan penguasaan yang tinggi dalam setiap aspek yang dikaji seperti contoh bilangan atau jumlah penglibatan diri serta masa yang diperuntukkan untuk beraktiviti sukan dalam seminggu. Berdasarkan kajian juga mendapati kebanyakan responden memperuntukkan masa sekurang-kurangnya 3 kali hingga 4 kali dalam seminggu untuk turun beraktiviti sukan, dan tidak kepada responden perempuan.
