Data presented in this study were gathered through 1) interviews with fifteen (15) students between 20 and 23 years old, who were registered in Spanish Communication Level 1 at Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia, 2) questionnaire involving 45 students about the effectiveness of the blog as an e-learning platform, and 3) analysis of writing activities and evaluations in the blog and the classroom. The data were analysed using the descriptive-qualitative approach and supported by quantitative data. The findings indicated that the blog was viewed positively as a learning platform that provided out-of-classroom opportunities to learn the Spanish language. The usage of the blog helped elevate students_ knowledge in mastering vocabulary, understanding the grammar system, and constructing grammatical sentences. The findings c..... 99 hits |
2024 Article | Effective learning among Malaysian juveniles: Key elements for success Noor Insyiraah binti Abu Bakar, Mohd Muslim Md Zalli, Izazol Idris, Azlina Abu Bakar, Abdul Talib Mohamed Hashim, Nor Hasnida Che Md Ghazali, Mohd Nazir Md Zabit Effective learning is crucial for helping young people gain knowledge, skills, and overall development. This study aims to identify key factors necessary for effective learning in rehabilitation schools for juveniles. A constructivist grounded theory (CGT) approach was employed to gain a deeper understanding. Fifteen teachers, three administrators, and five education experts participated in the study using purposive sampling. Data was collected via in-depth interviews with these participants. The thematic analysis revealed four main themes essential for effective learning among juveniles: teachers (qualifications, teaching methods, and attitudes), juveniles (emotions and interest in learning), rehabilitation schools (administrator support and learning facilities), and community (support from families and assistance from governmental and non-governmental organizations). This research highlights the elements that all stakeholders need to address to ensure effective learning for juveniles..... 279 hits
2024 Article | Developing and measuring an assessment instrument for media literacy among digital natives using Digital Intelligence (DQ) framework Siti Nor Amalina Ahmad Tajuddin The emergence of digitalisation focusing on media literacy is becoming more prevalent and thus forcing educators to embrace innovations as our digital natives are now shifting their attention to digital technologies. This study aimed to develop and measure an assessment instrument for media literacy focusing on knowledge, skills, and values for digital natives in Malaysia. Adopting the digital intelligence (DQ) framework, we have constructed the assessment instrument relevant to our digital natives of secondary school students and distributed it across schools in eleven states and one Federal Territory of Malaysia. We received a complete set of instruments from 1,276 respondents of Form Two and Form Four students and analyse the data by using descriptive and statistical analysis through SPSS. The findings of the study contribute to a more holistic assessment instrument that recognises the increasingly complex areas of knowledge, values, and skills for digital natives living in diverse,..... 152 hits
2024 Article | Current critical review on prediction stroke using machine learning Muhammad Modi Lakulu Strokes are a significant health problem because they often lead to long-term disabilities due to delayed diagnoses and insufficient information about the disease. The use of artificial intelligence (AI), specifically machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), has the potential to aid in stroke diagnosis and significantly advance healthcare. This review article critically examines predictive methods for ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. The preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) method was used to identify 79 relevant articles from five databases spanning 2012 to 2022, with IEEE having the highest number of articles and citations. China had the most authors, and the random forest (RF) algorithm showed the most accurate results. A taxonomy categorizing the implementation and usage of ML and DL for stroke prediction was created and includes five focus areas: building, system planning, evaluation, comparison, and analysis. Additional research into o..... 51 hits

2024 Article | Bibliometric analysis of mobile learning user experience industrial revolution 5.0 Shamsul Arrieya Ariffin User experience or usability is under research, particularly in mobile learning in the era of industrial revolution (IR) 5.0. This article discusses incorporating sophisticated mobile technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI) into the user experience in educational settings. Therefore, this paper investigates the relatively new revolutionary potential of mobile learning user experience in the context of the IR 5.0, where the digital and technology spheres meet for better user experiences, particularly for students in learning. The research explores novel meta-mobile technology approaches by examining concrete cases from 2012, analyzing their impact, and improving the user experience. Likewise, this article elucidates the need for mobile learning user experience research based on bibliometric analysis. _ 2024, Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science. | 1038 | 2024 Article | Active learning on students 'interpersonal skills impact: An online theatre approach Norzuraina Mohd Nor This study aims to examine the improvement of interpersonal skills through the application of active learning in the teaching and learning of art education. The approach used is the theatre-play approach. Theatre games are used as a fresh and appropriate approach to learning art education subjects through various types of games applied with multiple theatre techniques, including improvisation, role-playing, physical exercise, and voice acting. The issue of art education is a theoretical and practical one that requires high focus during learning. Therefore, theatre games are applied to encourage active learning and prevent students from getting bored when education is conducted online. Students play, act, improvise, and sing while learning. This qualitative study used observation and interview methods to involve eight Form 5 students at the Malaysian Art School. The study applies social learning theory and constructivist learning theory. The data was thematically analysed using Nvivo so..... 307 hits
2024 Article | Empowering communication strategy for safe cyberspace: insights from trust-based quality information Miftachul Huda Purpose: The recent trends of managing how to achieve communication in a safe cyberspace have attracted the particular attention from scholars worldwide. The strategic initiative of having an active organization of communication pathways is required for further scholarly elaboration to enable a subsisting safe community in cyberspace. An example of the challenges is the issue of trust in information or questionable issues denoting lack of detail and clarity. Thus, this obviously refers to a dubious circumstance that needs to explain the situation on addressing the critical issue of trust-based quality information. To respond to such an apparent situation, this paper aims to critically explore the insightful value of trust in information as essential element of quality assurance. Such arranged strategy would enable individual capacity and accountability in achieving the efficient communication management for a safe cyberspace. | 1040 | 2024 Article | Predicting haze phenomenon using chaos theory in industrial area in Malaysia Nor Zila Abd Hamid Predicting the occurrence of haze is of great importance due to its negative impact on human health, the environment, and the economy. This study aims to develop a model for predicting haze using chaos theory. The data were taken from an industrial area, Klang, Selangor Malaysia during Southwest Monsoon. The model is trained using historical data on haze occurrences and the accuracy of the prediction is evaluated using a testing dataset. A chaos model, namely local mean approximation method (LMAM) will be used to predict the haze phenomenon. Results show that the chaos-based approach is effective in forecasting the onset and duration of haze events. The predicting model can provide early warnings for policymakers and relevant authorities, enabling them to take proactive measures to mitigate the effects of haze on public health and the environment. The model also presents a promising alternative to traditional forecasting techniques and highlights the potential applications of chaos the..... 81 hits
