Parent-mediated behavioural intervention in children with autism spectrum disorder: A scoping review
Hasrul Hosshan
Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) exhibit deficits in social interaction and communication, show repetitive behaviours, and have restricted interests. They are at high risk of developing challenging behaviours, which can hinder social relationships, academic achievement, language skills, overall adaptive development, and also increase the risk of abuse in educational settings. This scoping review addresses the limited focus on parent-mediated behavioural intervention (PMBI) for managing challenging behaviours in children with ASD. Using the Arksey and O_Malley scoping review framework, we retrieved articles published between 2011 and 2022 from SCOPUS, ERIC, and SAGE Publications. Twelve articles met the inclusion criteria. Five themes emerged from the review regarding parents adopting PMBI: (1) performing functional behaviour analysis and developing behaviour intervention plans; (2) applying modification strategies and techniques of antecedent, behaviours and consequence; (3.....

Nonlinear forced vibration analysis of two-directional functionally graded truncated conical shells
Irdayanti Mat Nashir
It is crucial to comprehend the nonlinear vibration behavior of sophisticated engineering constructions to aid in the examination, creation and production procedures. The primary objective of this study, therefore, is to focus on exploring the nonlinear forced vibrational characteristics of two-directional functionally graded (TDFG) cone-shaped shell for the first time. To accomplish this, the motion equations of the TDFG cone-shaped shell are derived based upon the framework of first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) in conjunction with von Kármán assumption. TDFG cone-shaped shell models have mechanical properties that can change smoothly and continuously across the thickness and length of the shell, following a power law distribution pattern. To discretize the partial differential equations and transform them into ordinary differential equations, the Galerkin approach was used and ultimately, these equations were solved using the multiple time scales method. The accuracy and e.....

Financial development-economic growth nexus: A bibliometric analysis
Gan, Pei-Tha
The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview of published scientific documents in the fields of financial development and economic growth from 1986 to 2024. To this end, bibliometric analysis using the VOSviewer and CiteSpace tools was conducted on 2484 documents from the Scopus database. The objectives were to identify and evaluate document descriptions; the most prolific journals, authors and countries; keywords co-occurrence; major clustering and evolution; patterns of collaboration among the countries; and burst detection analyses for journals, keywords, authors, and countries. The results show that most often, keywords that appear gradually towards the end are related to clean energy, environment, green economy, sustainable development and growth issues from 2018 until recent years. This finding suggests that the fields of interest that are complementary to energy, environment, and sustainable growth issues will continue to become fast-growing topics of study in th.....

Exploring symbolism in Hu Ru Gui by Malaysian Chinese eriter Dai Xiaohua among Chinese tertiary students
Gopal, Revathi
This article explores English literature teaching, particularly the application of symbolism in a literary work called Hu Ru Gui among Chinese tertiary students majoring in English. Hu Ru Gui is a novel written by a Malaysian Chinese writer, Dai Xiaohua, which then became one of the literature teaching materials used at the tertiary level for Chinese students. This paper discusses the spiritual bloodline themes in the form of symbolism which runs through the whole literature work. The themes range from attitudes towards life and death, the national ridge of defending the motherland_s dignity, and the patriotic values internalized deeply from generation to generation beyond time, location, and culture. A qualitative method was employed in the current study. Purposive sampling was used to select five students to participate in the study. The students were at the advanced level of English language proficiency. An interview protocol was applied as an instrument to collect data from a semi-.....

Comparative transcriptomic study of matured fruit and post-fruit developmental stages in Malaysian durian varieties
Poh, Keong Bun
Durian (Durio zibethinus Murr.) is a famous tropical fruit in Malaysia and well-known for its sweet and creamy taste and unique strong aroma. Despite the differences, durian fruit undergo similar fruit developmental stages upon maturity. However, not much information related to metabolic changes at molecular level are available for fruit development in durian. Hence, the aim of this study was to identify and analyze fruit development transcriptomic changes on six commercial durian varieties (D24, D99, D160, D168, D197, and D200). The transcriptome analysis via RNA-seq assays generated 67 to 234 million raw reads, which are assembled into 49,601 genes with protein coding genes as the largest gene biotype, with a total of 35,832 genes (72.2%). All genes were annotated against Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG). GO analysis revealed genes were highly linked to biological process, cellular components and molecular function, with the highest representation.....
