An automatic financial calculation platform for business
Nurul Fazilah Ahmad Fauzi
When running a business, financial calculations are very important in achieving profit and business growth targets. Unfortunately, some business owners or entrepreneurs have poor or insufficient financial management knowledge. The purpose of this research is to create a platform that can help business owners in understanding financial calculations, especially those related to business profitability. As is well known, people continue to use website systems as platforms nowadays. This website technology can expand the use of computers for calculating and understanding business finances. Using the evolutionary prototyping approach, which consists of four (4) phases, will also help in focusing on user satisfaction and project quality since the process of creating and evaluating the prototype will produce cycles until it meets the user's expectations. Research findings from user acceptance tests show that users are very satisfied with the functionality and usability of the websit.....

MyTimeMaster: development of time management system for undergraduate UPSI students
Tan, Jessica Sze Sze
In today's fast-paced and competitive environment, students' ability to manage their time is becoming extremely important, however, many students face difficulties to practice or do not know how to manage their time or handle time. This study, therefore, presents the research and proposes the development of a time management system for undergraduate UPSI students to easily plan and manage their time effectively for academic tasks. To develop the proposed system for this project, the Evolutionary Prototyping model methodology was followed to ensure the system development process runs smoothly in the allocated time. The model consists of five phases: develop abstract specification, build prototype system, evaluate prototype system, system adequate and deliver system. The population of the study comprised undergraduate students from the Bachelor of Software Engineering (AC10) and Bachelor of Information Technology Education (AT20) programs at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris .....

ERDeeds: a mobile application to learn the Entity Relationship Diagram
Nur Sharmine Hanim Mazlan
Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) is the conceptual model of database design which serves as a visual starting point for database architecture. Database design represents structural diagrams of information systems. Thus, it needs to be constructed comprehensively. It was included in the ASK and SK curriculum which was introduced in 2017. Many students and even teachers are struggling in learning this topic as the content of this topic in form 3, form 4 and form 5 were using different notation. Hence, ERDeeds, a mobile application using the Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Computational Thinking (CT) approach, offers ERD problem solving efficiently. It aims to help teachers and students in learning ERD and understand ERD concept and development interactively anywhere at any time. Evolutionary prototyping methodology was adopted in developing this app. The evaluation of ERDeeds shows that an average score of 76% was given based on the analysis using System Usability Scale (SUS.....

Development of an Interactive Web-Based System for Stray Cats and Dogs (Paws League Welfare)
Tiong, Fui Ling
Nowadays, the web-based systems for stray animals are common, but unfortunately, it’s come with limited functions. It is due to the limited functionality which can really help to solve the problems bring by the strays, hence these websites are neglected. Thus, the project entitled “Development of an Interactive Web-Based System for Stray Cats and Dogs (Paws League Welfare)” is proposed. The inconvenience caused by stray animals was gathered from residents of Jalan Repok Sarikei. Additionally, requirements and needs for the system were also solicited. The system was created by using extreme programming (XP) as the methodology. After the system was built, it is tested by 10 users which is residents of Jalan Repok Area and 3 admins of Love and Rescue Animal Clubs. The overall result on the user interface is good. The most functionalities are also acceptable by the users and admins. Although the system is simple with less features and functionalities, but the assessment an.....

Aida Atirah Zaidi
This project is to develop an eAL-ISTIQAMAH: Student Registration and Management System for PASTI Al-Istiqamah. The main goal of the project is to create management systems for PASTI Al-Istiqamah and school registration in order to assist administrators and teachers in managing information in a more systematic way by handling information related to students. The product development methodology for this project was developed using the evolutionary prototyping model. The development of abstract specifications, the building of prototype systems, the evaluation of prototype systems, and the delivery of a final system make up the four phases of this model. The methodology needs to ensure that product research and development is done frequently and can achieve the objectives. In order to achieve the project's objectives, data will be gathered using a quantitative approach via an online survey in order to test and evaluate the impact on the user and the study's objectives. MyOsmos: the development of ontology-based smart students advising system
Muhammad Aizat Fitri Mohd Radzi
The development of a web-based academic advising system called MyOsmas that aims to help advisors and students monitor student learning performance more effectively. Traditional advising systems rely heavily on the advisor's analysis of tabular data, which can be time-consuming and inefficient when dealing with a large number of students. In contrast, MyOsmas uses visualization representations to help both advisors and students identify strengths, weaknesses, risks, and opportunities to improve performance achievement. MyOsmas relies on a student ontology as a knowledge base to ensure the process of development runs smoothly. All functions of the system were developed in small batches using three increments, which allowed the development team to address potential issues early on and ensure a high-quality end product. Finally, based on the result of system functionality validation using use case testing techniques, MyOsmas has the potential to be effective in helping both adv.....

Eduvision: AI-Powered remote proctoring for authentication of remote candidate during online exam
Snaygah Teiyagu
Due to the emergence of COVID-19 health issues, most of the higher education institutions throughout the globe had to quickly shift and adapt from on-site examination to online examination in 2020. In effect, identity verification and proctoring of online candidates became one of the key challenges to online examination today. Furthermore, in order to maintain the integrity of the online examination, it is crucial to confirm that the online candidates who finished the online examination and obtained academic credit are those who registered for the courses without engaging in cheating or impersonating other candidates. In this paper, a specific solution is proposed based on the authentication of biometric technology such as facial recognition to verify online candidate’s identity from the registered database and automatic proctoring system with artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to flag and generate alerts for suspicious behavior in live proctoring with high accuracy. .....

Development of mobile application for student-lecturer interaction hour management (e-Appointment)
Chong, Kar Ling
In the current era of technological growth, the use of mobile applications has completely changed how people live. Currently, the system for making appointments between lecturers and students has existed but the system is unsystematic because the student needs to ask the lecturer personally about their schedule and book manually with their lecturer, especially at Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). Thus, a user-friendly application known as e-Appointment is proposed for managing the student and lecturer interaction hour. The project development approach used for e- Appointment development is Small Scale Scrum. After the e-Appointment has been completely developed, the user testing was conducted to 10 lecturers and 10 students in UPSI. A set of questionnaires was distributed after the testing phase. The results show that the proposed e-Appointment has positive feedback from users and suitable to be used to make an appointment before lecturers and students have a meet up.....
