Kajian pengetahuan kesahihan literasi kandungan maklumat politik di laman sosial facebook di kalangan wanita belia di Malaysia
Norazmina Najibah Mohd Sani

Synthesis and characterization of mixed schiff base- salicylic acid metal complexes
Mercy, Bamigboye
New Schiff base [M(NaNp)(Sal)Cl2] metal complexes, where M = Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), or Fe(III), were synthesized. The Schiff base, previously prepared from the reaction of 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde and naphthalene-1-amine, was mixed with salicylic acid to synthesize the complexes. The characterization of these complexes was performed using powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The functional groups involved in the bonding were identified by comparing the FTIR spectra of the Schiff base and its metal complexes. Except for the Fe(III) complex, which was found to be octahedral, the Schiff base complexes were determined to be tetrahedral in geometry based on the FTIR spectra. It was discovered that these compounds coordinate via the carbonyl-O atom, the hydroxyl group's oxygen, and the azomethine group's nitrogen. The UV-Vis spectroscopy data revealed a hypsochromic .....

Ahmad Azrul Hakim Yahaya
The purposes of this study were to investigate the phytochemicals and antioxidant activity from Magnolia alba (Magnoliaceae). The antioxidant activity was investigated using total phenolic content and DPPH free radical scavenging assay. Isolation and purification of the leaf extracts of M. alba yielded six phytochemicals identified as squalene (1), parthenolide (2), vanillin (3), stigmasterol acetate (4), friedelin (5), and β-sitosterol (6). In antioxidant activity, the hexane extract of M. alba showed the highest value of phenolic content with 206.7 mg GAE/g, whereas methanol extract gave the highest inhibition in DPPH assay with 36.0%. However, all compounds were found weak activity in DPPH assay. The implication of this study demonstrates that M. alba could represent a source of molecules with antioxidant potential in the prevention of free radical-related diseases such as atherosclerosis and diabetes. Keywords: Magnoliaceae; Magnolia alba; phytochemicals; parthenolide; antioxidan.....
