Chemical composition and lipoxygenase inhibitory activity of the essential oil of alstonia angustiloba
Wan Mohd Nuzul Hakimi Wan Salleh
This study was aimed to investigate the chemical compositions and lipoxygenase inhibitory activity of the essential oil extracted from Alstonia angustiloba growing in Malaysia. The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation and fully characterized by gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry methods. Analysis of the A. angustiloba essential oil resulted in the identification of twenty-five chemical components, which constitute 90.8% of the total oil. The most abundant components of A. angustiloba oil were linalool (21.2%), 1,8-cineole (16.8%), ?-terpineol (9.5%), terpinen-4-ol (8.5%), ?-caryophyllene (6.2%), and caryophyllene oxide (5.2%). The essential oil displayed moderate activity towards lipoxygenase inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 45.8 ?g/mL ? 2021,Chemistry Journal of Moldova. All Rights Reserved..

Chemical composition and lipoxygenase inhibitory activity of alseodaphne peduncularis meisn. Essential oil
Wan Mohd Nuzul Hakimi Wan Salleh
This study examined the chemical composition of the essential oil extracted from the bark of Alseodaphne peduncularis Meisn. (Lauraceae) by hydrodistillation with 0.2% yield. The essential oil was chemically characterised by gas chromatography-flame ionization detector and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and 31 constituents comprising 94.3% of the total oil content were identified. These constituents included ?-caryophyllene (24.5%), viridiflorol (12.3%), ?-cadinene (9.8%), and bicyclogermacrene (4.2%), respectively. The tested essential oil showed moderate in vitro lipoxygenase activity with an IC50 = 60.2 ?g/mL. To the best of our knowledge, there is no report and study on the bark part of this species. ? 2021, Badebio Biotechnololgy Ltd. All rights reserved...

Chemical composition and acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity of Chassalia curviflora (Wall.) Thwaites essential oil
Wan Mohd Nuzul Hakimi Wan Salleh
Chemical composition and acetylcholinesterase activity of the essential oil of Chassalia cur-viflora (Wall.) Thwaites (Rubiaceae) was examined for the first time. The essential oil was obtained by hydrodistillation and fully characterised by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A total of twenty-seven components were identified in the essential oil, which made up 91.2% of the total oil. The essential oil is composed mainly of caryophyllene oxide (22.4%), ?-caryophyllene (16.5%), germacrene D (11.8%), (E)-nerolidol (9.2%), and elemol (5.5%). The essential oil showed significant activity against acetylcholinesterase with a percentage inhibition of 70.5%. ? 2021, INNOVHUB - Stazioni Sperimentali per l'Industria S.r.l - Area Oli e Grassi. Chaotic existence analysis on short term traffic flow in Urban network
Nur Hamiza Adenan
Traffic flow is a continuous phenomenon. The irregular patterns in the traffic flow data show the complexity of the system under a variety of internal and external factors restrict and influence. The possibility of making short range forecasting of traffic flow using chaos approach is by investigating the presence of chaotic behaviour. Traffic flow data of four stations located in Selangor, Malaysia were analysed. There were three methods employed in this analysis; (1) phase space plot, (2) Cao method and (3) Lyapunov exponent. The phase space plot can be constructed by phase space. There were two parameters needed in phase space reconstructed; (1) time delay, ? that is calculated by using average mutual information (AMI) and (2) embedding dimension, m that is obtained from Cao method. The traffic flow data were analysed to reveal the existence of chaotic behaviour. Therefore, short range forecasting of traffic flow using chaos approach can be applied to show the suitability of chaos a.....

Chaos theory modelling for temperature time series at Malaysian high population area during dry season
Nor Zila Abd Hamid
The aim of this study is to model the temperature time series at Malaysian high population area during dry season through chaos theory. The selected high population area is Shah Alam located in Selangor state of Malaysia. Chaos theory modelling is categorized into two parts namely analysis and prediction. Analysis by the phase space plot showed that the nature of the observed temperature time series is chaos. Hence, the time series is predicted via the chaotic model. Results from the chaotic model showed that the temperature time series is well predicted with Pearson correlation coefficient near to 1. The result is compared with the traditional method of autoregressive linear model. Based on the computed values of average absolute error, root mean squared error and Pearson correlation coefficient, the chaotic model is found better in predicting temperature time series at Shah Alam area during dry season. This indicates that the chaos theory is applicable for temperature time series at .....

Cellular total lipid peroxidation, and glutathione S transferase levels in larvae and pupae of aedes aegypti with catalysts preparation of Mg-doped tio2Nanoparticles
Moatasem Alsalih
Aim: synthesis, characterization, and application of modifying nanocomposite TiO2 doped with Magnesium for photodegradation of antioxidant system Larvae and Pupae of Aedes Aegypti Catalysts Preparation of Mg-doped TiO2 to determine activity of oxidative stress (MDA) and glutathione S Transferase, were known as a parameter of defense system resistance and immune maintained. This study was undertaken to assess the potential role of growth of stages of Aedes Aegypti correspondence with oxidant and antioxidant balance triggered by nanoparticle exposure. The amounts of these parameters in cellular samples were investigated using the following materials and procedures, intake 100 larvae and 100 pupae as subjects with (study subjects) and 3-9 days' age-matched with healthy subjects as controls. at the second of the admission, as a marker of lipid peroxidation, and therefore an indicator of the activity of standard free radicals Nanoparticles Photo Catalysts, TiO2 doped with Mg, the standard p.....

Carbon nanotubes from waste cooking palm oil as adsorbent materials for the adsorption of heavy metal ions
Suriani Abu Bakar
In this work, waste cooking palm oil (WCPO)-based carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with encapsulated iron (Fe) nanoparticles have been successfully produced via modified thermal chemical vapor deposition method. Based on several characterizations, the dense WCPO-based CNT was produced with high purity of 89% and high crystallinity proven by low ID/IG ratio (0.43). Moreover, the ferromagnetic response of CNTs showed that the average coercivity and magnetization saturation were found to be 551.5 Oe and 13.4 emu/g, respectively. These produced WCPO-based CNTs were further used as heavy metal ions adsorbent for wastewater treatment application. Some optimizations, such as the effect of different adsorbent dosage, varied initial pH solution, and various heavy metal ions, were investigated. The adsorption studies showed that the optimum adsorbent dosage was 1.8 g/L when it was applied to 100 mg/L Cu (II) solution at neutral pH (pH 7). Further measurement then showed that high Cu (II) ion removal perc.....
