A review of nanotechnological applications to detect and control surface water pollution
Che Zalina Zulkifli
Surface water is extremely susceptible to pollution stemming from human activities, such as the expansion of urban and suburban areas, industries, cities, and agriculture. In fact, sources of surface water have become the most common discharge sites for wastewater, which may contain microorganisms, pharmaceutical waste, heavy metals, and harmful pollutants. As a reference standard for clean water, the water quality standards and index of Malaysia were used. In comparison with conventional wastewater treatment methods, new nanomaterial-based methods for water filtration and purification are drawing attention as more efficient methods for water pollution detection and treatment. This prompts the use of nanotechnology applications to control surface water pollution and quality, as surface water is the main source of water consumption for humans, animals, and plants. This paper reviewed the application of nanotechnology for the detection and treatment of surface water pollution to ensure t.....

Culture sustainability through co-curricular learning program: Learning batik cross review
Miftachul Huda
As the application of colored designs on cloth using wax in certain areas in decorating items of clothing, Batik is made through several steps that come from drawing the pattern on the paper followed by imitating the pattern on fabric, which is called ngeblat. The next phase is followed by drawing the pattern using wax, which is called mencanting. The subsequent step is the process of coloring the pattern of Batik, called pencoletan, and then subsequently followed by color-locking on Batik through covering the Batik with wax, namely basic color dyeing. This process is called menembok. The final step is making the panting process through washing, called nglorod. This process should attempt to maintain Batik with cultural sustainability, as its process contains several values, such as discipline, creativity, independence, patriotism, responsibility, cooperation, and environmental care. Based on this background, this paper attempts to examine the Batik’s cultural design and to explore i.....

A BRIEF REVIEW ON MATERIALS USED IN CONTROLLED-RELEASE FERTILISER FORMULATIONS
Azlan Kamari
The excessive use of fertiliser and uncontrolled-release of nutrient into soil environment have caused a significant eutrophication issue and groundwater contamination. These scenarios have necessitated the development of eco-friendly controlled-release fertilisers (CRF5) for agricultural purposes. In recent years. several materials have been developed and tested to control the release of nutrients particularly in agricultural soils. Although, a number of controlled -release fertilisers have shown a great potential to sustain nutrients release, their performance is greatly influenced by the type of soil, plant species and climate. This review focuses on the development of controlled -release fertilisers using different starting materials or precursors. The technique of synthesis, the rate of nutrients release. the characteristics and drawbacks of controlled -release fertilisers developed have also been highlighted in this review. This review is beneficial to scientists in the field of .....

Multi-perspectives systematic review on the applications of sentiment analysis for vaccine hesitancy
Abdullah Hussein Abdullah Al-Amoodi
A substantial impediment to widespread Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination is vaccine hesitancy. Many researchers across scientific disciplines have presented countless studies in favor of COVID-19 vaccination, but misinformation on social media could hinder vaccination efforts and increase vaccine hesitancy. Nevertheless, studying people's perceptions on social media to understand their sentiment presents a powerful medium for researchers to identify the causes of vaccine hesitancy and therefore develop appropriate public health messages and interventions. To the best of the authors' knowledge, previous studies have presented vaccine hesitancy in specific cases or within one scientific discipline (i.e., social, medical, and technological). No previous study has presented findings via sentiment analysis for multiple scientific disciplines as follows: (1) social, (2) medical, public health, and (3) technology sciences. Therefore, this research aimed to review and analyze articles.....

Enabling FAIR use of Ethnomusicology Data - Through Distributed Repositories, Linked Data and Music Information Retrieval
Alex Hofmann
ABSTRACT: Recordings of musical practices are kept in various public institutions and private  depositories  around  the  world.  They  constitute  valuable  data  for ethnomusicological research and are substantial for the world’s musical heritage. At the moment, there are no commonly used systems and standards for organizing, describing or categorizing these data, which makes their use difficult. In this paper, we discuss the required steps to make them findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR), and outline action items to reach these goals. We show solutions that help researchers to manage their data over the whole research lifecycle and discuss the benefits of combining technologies from information science, music information retrieval, and linked data, with  the  aim  of  giving  incentives for  the  ethnomusicology  research  community  to actively participate in these developments in the future...
