Ong, Sharon Yong Yee
The purpose of present study is to analyses the critical success factors of WEP implementation in Malaysia. The study indicates six critical success factor of WEP (entrepreneurial traits, entrepreneurial experience, management skill, customer relation, training and education and environment). A total of 38 responses from women entrepreneurs in Malaysia were collected through email and on-line questionnaires. The result shows the mean values are 5.811 to 5.461, consider good at WEP implementation. The dimension TE (5.811) and EE (5.758) have the highest mean value and shown to be the most important dimensions of WEP implementation for women entrepreneur in Malaysia SMEs. The implications present study is anticipated to help better understand women entrepreneurs' condition, needs and provide new insights for the critical success factors of a more gender-specific practice for women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. This study also provides important guidelines to implement WEP. In future researc.....

Correlation of langmuir isotherm, optical, surface potential and morphological characterizations of two functionalized dihydroxycalix [4] arene for lead cation entrapment
Faridah Lisa Supian
The versatilities of calixarenes have been known primarily in the host-guest world. In this work, two calix[4]arenes, namely C-DHC4 and N-DHC4, possess the same lower rim but are distinct in the upper rim. The Langmuir Isotherm and optical properties have been carried out using Langmuir?Blodgett trough and UV-Visible spectroscopy, respectively. The topographical image of the calix[4]arenes has been observed using FESEM, and lead cation entrapments of these calix[4]arenes have been inspected using the surface potential sensor. The isotherm graph revealed the size of each calixarene; C-DHC4 ~ 1.90 nm2 and N-DHC4 ~ 2.10 nm2 . The UV-Visible result demonstrated that each calix[4]arene has two firm absorption peaks where C-DHC4 has two broad peaks, which lie in 261 and 330 nm, while N-DHC4 has two shoulders at 275 and 282 nm. FESEM images have shown the formation of calix[4]arene nanocluster. Further monitoring on the surface potential and effective dipole moment indicate that C-DHC4 perfor.....

Conversational mental verbs in English song lyrics: A corpus-driven analysis
Goyak, Flora
This corpus-driven study explores the linguistics phenomenon of mental verbs in English song lyrics from 1960s until 2000s. This study aims to identify the frequency distributions of lexical verbs, mental verbs, and to analyze the language uses of mental verbs in the Diachronic Corpus of English Song Lyrics (DCOESL). Quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis were applied. First, quantitative data covering frequency distributions of general verbs was produced via LancsBox. Top three mental verbs in song lyrics were selected for analysis and discussion. The frequency distributions of mental verbs and collocations were produced via LancsBox. Collocational patterns were illustrated through collocational graphs constructed via LancsBox. Frequency distributions of mental verbs were compared to reference corpus Contemporary Corpus of American English (COCA) for the purpose of generalizing the findings from this study as representative of English language. The statistical data were subm.....

Convalescent-plasma-transfusion intelligent framework for rescuing COVID-19 patients across centralised/decentralised telemedicine hospitals based on AHP-group TOPSIS and matching component
Zaidan, A. A.
As coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spreads across the world, the transfusion of efficient convalescent plasma (CP) to the most critical patients can be the primary approach to preventing the virus spread and treating the disease, and this strategy is considered as an intelligent computing concern. In providing an automated intelligent computing solution to select the appropriate CP for the most critical patients with COVID-19, two challenges aspects are bound to be faced: (1) distributed hospital management aspects (including scalability and management issues for prioritising COVID-19 patients and donors simultaneously), and (2) technical aspects (including the lack of COVID-19 dataset availability of patients and donors and an accurate matching process amongst them considering all blood types). Based on previous reports, no study has provided a solution for CP-transfusion-rescue intelligent framework during this pandemic that has addressed said challenges and issues. This study ai.....

Context-based tasks in mathematics textbooks for vocational high school students
Setyaningsih, Rini
This study analyzes the context-based tasks in mathematics textbooks for grade ten and eleven vocational high school students in Indonesia. A vertical analysis was done based on the types of context, types of information, and cognitive demand types. This study is a descriptive qualitative study involving an external coder to ensure its validity and reliability. The data collection was conducted through text analysis and literature study. Whereas the data analysis used is content analysis. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that there are still little tasks with the relevant and essential context in the mathematics textbooks (10% for grade ten and 30% for grade eleven). Regarding vocational high school expertise, the tasks are relevant to vocational high school's specific expertise. Regarding the types of information, tasks with matching categorized are dominant: 54% in grade ten and 88% in grade eleven. For the types of cognitive demand, grade ten is dominated with reprodu.....

Consumers\ responsiveness towards contaminated canned sardine in Malaysia: Does perceived severity matter?
Nor Asiah Omar
Incidences of food contamination often lead to behavioral changes among consumers, and the long-term outcome may jeopardize economic returns to producers. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between food safety concerns, price consciousness, perceived severity, and food repurchase intention in the context of the canned sardine contamination issue in Malaysia. Moreover, the moderating and the mediating impact of perceived severity on repurchase intention are also uncovered in this study. A self-administered survey was distributed to a total of 400 respondents among consumers of canned sardine who had prior knowledge regarding canned sardine contamination. Empirical finding supported that price consciousness is related to repurchase intention. Perceived severity positively moderates the relationship between these two variables. The study results also reveal that, perceived severity fully mediates the relationship between food safety concerns and consumers? repurchase i.....

Construct validity of the knowledge and skills in a geography STEM education instrument among prospective teachers: Confirmatory factor analysis
Hanifah Mahat
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects refer to school education policies and curriculum options to increase competitiveness in science and technology for students. Geography connects STEM disciplines with the application of geographical technology and tools, which can better understand cross-disciplinary phenomena to address critical problems. This study was carried out to validate the construct of the knowledge and skills in a geography STEM education instrument among prospective teachers in Malaysia. The respondents consisted of 400 students of semesters one to eight from the Bachelor of Education in Geography program, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Perak, Malaysia, who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. The constructs studied were the knowledge and skills in geography STEM education. The data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) for item compo.....

Computational thinking lesson in improving digital literacy for rural area children via CS unplugged
Irma Yuliana
The advantage of computational tools over human brains is the speed, but the initiative ability of human brains is not owned by computational tools. The perfect combination of thinking and computing lays the foundation of science and gives birth to a series of achievements in technology. The introduction of technology through the subjects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in schools nowadays is just limited to using the applications. Computational thinking gives knowledge that builds structural thinking, critical power, and creativity by learning the computing process itself. These are what people need to enhance digital literacy. The way to learn it could be in many strategies. CS Unplugged was used in this research to deliver computational thinking in a simple way related to minimum infrastructure in the remote area for the children at elementary schools. Some activities were done as kinaesthetic learning in certain topics of CS Unplugged. This kind of method does not.....
