| 411 | 2023 Article | Improving form 4 students summary telling ability through augmented reality method (AR) Sharmila Darshini Vanasagaren Abstract: As a teaching aid, Augmented Reality (AR) has emerged as a popular tool for improving Form 4 students’ learning and this research seeks to explore how AR can help Malaysian students understand and summarize the Tamil novel Vadamalar. The conventional modes of teaching practiced at the moment has its drawbacks in embrace of students and enhancement of understanding, as indicated by low pre-test results. Specifically, this research seeks to find out if the inclusion of AR in the curriculum can facilitate a marked positive change in students’ reading behaviour, understanding as well as memory. This study therefore aimed at adopting a qualitative approach and data was obtained from pre- and post-tests administered on students before and after the introduction of the use of AR. Post-tests yielded usable comprehension scores whose range was 85-95 as opposed to the pre-test which had low scores which ranged between 25-50. Proverbs, as culturally rich expressions, play a significant role in language development, cognitive growth, and moral education. However, traditional instructional methods often fall short in helping young learners grasp the contextual depth and practical relevance of proverbs. This research has carried on with connectivism theory which allows students to connect what they learn through videos and technology. Kajian ini juga telah mengenal pasti kesahan dan kebolehgunaan e-modul tersebut. Kajian pembangunan ini menggunakan model reka bentuk instruksional ADDIE untuk membangunkan E-modul Garamia. Reka bentuk kajian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan penyelidikan reka bentuk dan pembangunan atau Design and Development Research (DDR) yang mempunyai tiga fasa. Usaha mencegah penularan kes COVID-19 telah menjejaskan pendapatan rakyat. Kerajaan Malaysia menanganinya dengan melaksanakan Bantuan Prihatin Nasional, Moratorium, Program Strategi Memperkasa Rakyat dan Ekonomi (PEMERKASA). Justeru kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti reaksi masyarakat khususnya kepada bantuan berbentuk kewangan yang dikenali sebagai Bantuan Kehilangan Pendapatan (BKP). Melalui penyelidikan kualitatif dengan kaedah netnografi, sebanyak 356 komen netizen mengenai BKP di ruang maya telah diperoleh. Komen tersebut dianalisis menggunakan perisian ATLAS.ti secara tematik. Analisis kajian menunjukkan bahawa respons masyarakat terhadap bantuan semasa pandemik tersebut adalah bersifat positif dan negatif. Therefore, this study is conducted to determine the students’ understanding of proverbs and idioms in Tamil, known as Mozhiyani, through a card game. This study aimed to investigate the problems faced by students in learning Mozhiyani and their interest in understanding it by playing the card game. The study also investigated whether students improved in learning Mozhiyani after using the card game. To encourage students to use suitable Mozhiyani, 20 pieces of cards consisting of four types of Mozhiyani were introduced as a new method of learning.
