Kajian ini dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap dan kesan beban kerja, sokongan penyelia, sokongan rakan sekerja terhadap penglibatan kerja dalam kalangan guru Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) di negeri Selangor. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan reka bentuk bukan eksperimental telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Pemilihan sampel kajian dilaksanakan secara pensampelan rawak mudah melibatkan 274 orang guru SBP di negeri Selangor. Instrumen kajian melibatkan soal selidik yang diadaptasi dan diubahsuai mengikut keperluan dan kesesuaian kajian. Data yang diperoleh di analisis menggunakan Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) versi 23. Penyelidik menjalankan analisis statistik deskriptif untuk mengetahui tahap beban kerja, sokongan penyelia, sokongan rakan sekerja dan penglibatan kerja. Pembangunan model kompetensi POPSS bagi pemimpin pertengahan kolej matrikulasi Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan satu model kompetensi bagi pemimpin pertengahan kolej matrikulasi, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia. Objektif kajian ini memfokuskan kepada konstruk dan elemen model kompetensi yang diuji kebolehgunaannya. Pembangunan model ini menggunakan pendekatan reka bentuk dan pembangunan yang melibatkan tiga fasa utama iaitu, fasa analisis keperluan, fasa pembangunan dan fasa penilaian. Fasa pertama iaitu fasa analisis keperluan melibatkan temu bual terhadap enam orang pemimpin pertengahan di kolej matrikulasi bertujuan mengenal pasti keperluan membangunkan model. Fasa kedua menggunakan teknik Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM). Seramai 30 orang pakar dilibatkan dalam FDM1 dan 30 orang pakar dalam FDM2 serta temu bual tiga orang pakar dijalankan bertujuan bagi memperoleh kesepakatan pakar terhadap konstruk dan elemen model. Unsur motivasi memenuhi keperluan hidup dalam kumpulan cerpen P. Santhiagu

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti keperluan bertahan hidup, sosial dan perkembangan diri watak, menganalisis unsur motivasi untuk memenuhi keperluankeperluan tersebut dalam diri watak berdasarkan Teori Motivasi ERG serta menghuraikan keberkesanan motivasi yang dialami oleh watak-watak dalam kumpulan cerpen P. Santhiagu. Kajian ini berbentuk kualitatif yang menggunakan kaedah analisis teks berdasarkan teori motivasi ERG (Existence, Relatedness, Growth) yang dipelopori oleh Clayton Alderfer. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa sebanyak sembilan watak memperlihatkan keperluan bertahan hidup, lapan watak pula memperlihatkan keperluan sosial dan enam watak memperlihatkan keperluan perkembangan diri. Sementara itu, analisis motivasi watak berdasarkan teori motivasi ERG menunjukkan bahawa sebanyak 16 watak memperlihatkan kepuasan dalam memenuhi keperluan hidup dan terdorong untuk melangkah ke keperluan yang seterusnya. Amalan pembelajaran Ilmu Qiraat dan penguasaan Qiraat pelajar institusi tahfiz Al-Quran negeri Perak

Ilmu Qiraat merupakan suatu ilmu yang diturunkan oleh Allah SWT untuk membaca al-Quran dengan pelbagai bentuk bacaan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti amalan pembelajaran Ilmu Qiraat dan penguasaan bacaan Qiraat pelajar institusi tahfiz al-Quran negeri Perak. Model pembelajaran Ilmu Qiraat al-Jazariyy digunakan dalam kajian ini sebagai kerangka teoretikal. Kajian ini melibatkan responden seramai 260 pelajar sebagai sampel ujian yang mengikuti pembelajaran Ilmu Qiraat. Metod kajian menggunakan kajian tinjauan yang menggabungkan kajian secara kuantitatif disokong dengan kualitatif. Satu set soal selidik, ujian Tahriri dan Syafawi yang telah disahkan kandungannya oleh lapan panel pakar perujuk telah digunakan untuk mengumpul data. Kajian ini bertujuan menghasilkan projek persembahan yang menggunakan konsep imaginasi dalam penciptaan tari berdasarkan irama Ghazal Melayu Johor. Projek persembahan ini berfokuskan kepada dua aspek iaitu konsep imaginasi dan proses improvisasi yang mencipta tari diinspirasikan berdasarkan irama Ghazal Melayu Johor. Teori Imaginasi dan teori inkuri oleh John Dewey’s digunakan sebagai dasar kepada penjelasan konsep imaginasi dalam penciptaan. Menurut beliau imaginasi adalah satu bentuk aras pengetahuan dalam menzahirkan pelbagai perkara dan salah satunya adalah proses kreatif. Pada peringkat awal idea yang dibentangkan semasa projek akhir adalah berkaitan penciptaan tarian di Malaysia dan hubungkait dengan muzik atau lagu yang mengiringi tari. Using WhatsApp to promote ESL students writing

This research article illustrates the use of WhatsApp to help tertiary students to improve their English writing skills. The writing activities includes writing emails, paragraphs and essays. This electronic application can help instructors to have an engaging classroom environment by giving the students the opportunity to take their role in the classroom as producers. The main objective of this study is to investigate the extent to which the use of WhatsApp improves students’ writing skills. The second objective of this present study is to identify students’ perceptions about the use of WhatsApp to learn writing inside the classroom. A mixed-methods research was used in this study whereby six writing tests, a questionnaire and focus group discussions were administered. The results of the writing tests and the questionnaire used in this study highlighted that WhatsApp motivated students to use it to promote their writing in English. The influence of Psychological factors in implementing the adapted communicative approach to teach English language in Khoms/Libya (The case study of Libyan high schools in Khoms)

Adapting the communicative approach means modifying its principles to fit the learners' needs and goals. There are some factors affect the implementation of the adapted communicative approach to teach the English language in Libya. For example, psychological factors that affect its implementation. However, it is important to note that these factors should not be seen as obstacles or barriers to the implementation of the communicative approach. Rather, they should be respected, and the practitioners are supposed to adapt not to adopt the communicative approach, interpret learning principles, and modify the approach to develop their approach to fit the target learners' needs and goals. Syntactic complexity of MA thesis and PhD dissertation abstracts written by native and non-native speakers of English

Academic texts have been characterized by the high number of noun phrases; however, to the best the researcher's knowledge, no prior study has investigated the syntactic complexity of noun phrases in abstracts written by native and non-native MA and PhD applied linguistics students. In an attempt to fill this gap, a corpus of 40 abstracts written by native and non-native MA and PhD applied linguistics students was collected and examined. Using two computer applications (L2SCA and TAASSC), the researcher analyzed the corpus to pinpoint possible differences. The findings of this study showed that there were some similarities and differences between the syntactic structures employed in the abstracts of native and non-native MA and PhD students. The results showed that noun phrase syntactic complexity measures (examined through TAASSC) were not successful in differentiating native versus non-native and MA versus PhD writers. Integrating reader response theory into EFL Classroom at Farhangian University

The integration of literature in TEFL has recently achieved a profound status. The applicability and efficiency of RRT in EFL settings are great educational objectives. This article deals with the introduction of Reader Response Theory to language teaching in Teacher Training Centers. The subjects were 120 sophomore students at Farhangian University, Shahid Modaress and Imam Jafar-e-Sadegh Campuses. An experimental design was used in the study. Instead of offering the regular teaching textbooks, eight grade-three short stories were presented for language teaching purposes. The data analysis revealed that the application of RRA to teaching general English in Farhangian University proved to be highly successful and it improved the learners’ language learning significantly. This proved to be highly successful with girls than boys. The incorporation of Reader Response Theory is highly recommended in university curriculum for better language learning and teaching.  ..
