| 2020 article | Acceptance and adequacy of water supply among flood victims at the temporary evacuation centres in Kuala Krai, Kelantan, Malaysia Koh, Liew See This article discusses the analysis of water supply acceptance and adequacy among flood victims at the Kuala Krai Temporary Evacuation Centres (TECs) in Kelantan, Malaysia. This study applied a quantitative approach using questionnaire. A total of 300 flood victims were randomly selected. The aspects being measured were the types of water resource acceptance as well as the adequacy of water supply according to four main types of domestic activities at the TECs, namely drinking, cooking, bathing and washing. The analysis used was descriptive analysis, a cross-tabulation test to assess the relation of water supply adequacy to respondents' profile and the selected TECs. The findings showed that the bottled/mineral water acceptance by the flood victims was insufficient for drinking and cooking purposes, while the acceptance of rainwater as a water supply for bathing and washing was sufficient. The findings also show that the water supply was insufficient for drinking (84.96%), cooking (85...... 626 hits |
| 2020 article | Academic incivility on job satisfaction and depressivity : can supervisory support be the antidote? Nurul Ain Hidayah Abas Purpose: Academia is known for its high competitiveness, with prestige and diverse responsibilities and achievements being decisive determinants of success resulting in academic incivility. This paper extends Lazarus and Folkman's theory of stress by examining the moderating role of interpersonal justice (IJ) , as supervisory support, on academics' job satisfaction and depressivity. Design/methodology/approach: The study recruited 185 academics from a public university in Malaysia to participate in a survey. Using the partial least squares- structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis, academic incivility was negatively related to job satisfaction, whilst positively related to depressivity. Findings: As hypothesized, it was found that the predicted detrimental effect of academic incivility on job satisfaction was buffered by perceiving high IJ from their immediate supervisors, i.e. deans or heads of department. An unanticipated finding was that there was a stronger relationship betw..... 669 hits |
| 2020 article | Abdominal muscle activation: an EMG study of the Sahrmann five-level core stability test Ebby Waqqash Mohamad Chan Background: Sahrmann ¯ve-level core stability test protocol has been used to evaluate the ability of the core muscles to stabilize the spine. However, validation studies on the Sahrmann protocol are limited. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the di®erent levels of Sahrmann ¯ve-level core stability (levels 1–5) on the muscle activity of rectus abdominis (RA), external oblique (EO), and transverse abdominis/internal oblique (TrA/IO). Methods: Twenty-two asymptomatic male participants aged 21.36 1.59 years were recruited. Participants were instructed to perform maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) and ¯ve levels of Sahrmann ¯ve-level core stability test guided with a pressure biofeedback unit (PBU). The surface electromyography (EMG) data of each muscle during ¯ve levels of Sahrmann ¯ve-level core stability test were normalized as a percentage of MVC. Results: Results showed signi¯cant di®erences in the normalized EMGs of RA [2(4) = 64.80, p < 0.001], EO [2..... 711 hits |
| 2020 article | A validity of accountability among guidance and counseling teachers for students at risk of dropping out intervention program instruments Nurulaini Moshidi Students at risk of dropping out intervention program are a proactive step taken by Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) (2018) in addressing the problem. Guidance and counseling teachers has been given responsibility as a planner and executor in this program. This study using quantitative approach which is a survey of 100 respondents among the guidance and counseling teachers who teach in secondary school only. The purpose of this study is to validate the instrument of Accountability among Guidance and Counseling Teachers for Students at Risk of Dropping out Intervention Program based on four components which are Define; Manage; Deliver and; Assess using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The EFA results found that all factor loadings were greater than 0.55 meaning that all items were received and no items were dropped. Based on the analysis performed, it can be concluded that the instrument used has a good degree of validity in determining the accountability among guidance and counse..... 893 hits |
| 2020 article | A uniform intelligent prioritisation for solving diverse and big data generated from multiple chronic diseases patients based on hybrid decision-making and voting method Mohammed, K.I. Telemedicine is increasingly used in the modern health care system because it provides health care services to patients amidst distant locations. However, the prioritisation process for patients with multiple chronic diseases (MCDs) over telemedicine is becoming increasingly complex due to diverse and big data generated from multiple disease conditions. To solve such a problem, massive datasets must be collected, and high velocity must be acquired, specifically in real-time processing. This process requires decision-making (DM) regarding the emergency degree of each chronic disease for every patient. Multi-criteria decisionmaking (MCDM) approaches (i.e. direct aggregation, distance measurement and compromise ranking) are the main solutions for dealing with this complex situation. However, each MCDM approach provides a unique rank from those of other methods. By far, the preferred DM approach that can provide an ideal rank better than other approaches has not been established. This stud..... 582 hits |
| 2020 article | A systematic review of social media acceptance from the perspective of educational and information systems theories and models Al-Qaysi, Noor The study of social media acceptance and adoption is not a new research topic. However, the analysis of the educational and information systems (IS) theories/models that are used tonexamine the social media acceptance and adoption is considered an important researchndirection. To examine these theories/models and provide researchers with a clear vision of thisnresearch topic, we should be aware of the leading educational and IS theories/models used innthis line of research. To this end, this systematic review retrieved and analyzed 2,382 articles.nThe retrieved articles were then critically examined to meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria, nin which 122 articles published between 2009 and 2018 were eventually selected for furtherncritical analysis. The main findings indicated that the uses and gratifications theory (U&G) andnthe social constructivism theory were considered the most widely used educational theories innsocial media. Besides, the technology acceptance model (TAM) and ..... 691 hits |

Some of these apps are not useful nor do they possess rich content, which benefits end users as expected, especially in medical-related cases. This research aims to review and analyze articles associated with medical app assessment across different platforms. This research also aimed to provide the best practices and identify the academic challenges, motivations and recommendations related with quality assessments. In addition, a methodological approach followed in previous research in this domain was also discussed to give some insights for future comers with what to expect. We systematically searched articles on topics related to medical app assessment. The search was conducted on five major databases, namely, Science Direc..... 872 hits |
