551 | 2024 Article | Assessment of Variability of Essential Oil Components in the Genus Lindera (Lauraceae) by Multivariate Analysis Wan Mohd Nuzul Hakimi Bin W Salleh, Shazlyn Milleana binti Shaharudin Essential oils hold tremendous medicinal attributes and are greatly exploited industrially worldwide. Lindera is an important genus of the Lauraceae family of plants which are known for their medicinal values. In the present study, eleven studies reported on Lindera essential oils were selected and reviewed. Then the variability of essential oil components in the genus Lindera were assessed by multivariate analysis. The chemical analysis enabled the identification of qualitative and quantitative differences among the essential oils. The essential oils were characterized by high proportions of germacrene B, spathulenol, nerolidol, β-caryophyllene, dihydromyrcene, furanosesquiterpenoid, sesquithuriferol, and linalool. Then, the differences in the chemical profiles of the essential oil were confirmed by the multivariate statistical analysis, which was determined via principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA). Grounded in the Simple View of Reading (SVR) Theory, the study explores distinct psycholinguistic profiles and predictive factors for reading success or challenges. The research involves 140 carefully chosen students; 70 struggling readers and 70 good readers were identified based on their performance in the national Grade 5 Scholarship exam of 2021 in Puttalam South Divisional Education. Through the improved ORB algorithm, this paper effectively combines the BRIEF and ORB image feature and matching algorithms to optimize capturing and matching image features. Two classes of animation majors in a school were selected for experiments in the study, and the effects of the two teaching modes were compared through half-term tests, pre- and post-test question analyses, and questionnaire surveys. This digital dimension amplifies synchronous communication, uniting a vast number of users as they share their unique experiences. This research aims to scrutinize the perceptions of elementary students towards the metaverse system (MS). Our proposed model underwent validation through the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique. Data, sourced from 287 students of Dubai National School, revealed that the primary predictor of students' intent to engage with the MS is personal innovativeness. This is followed closely by perceived usefulness and then perceived ease of use. Twelve boys aged between 13 to 14 years (13.17±0.83) with one to two years of badminton experience volunteered to participate in the study. To calculate arm-to-racquet length ratios, participants' arm lengths for both hands were recorded. Participants were divided into six pairs and played a badminton match using three types of racquets which were racquets A (1.1:1.0), B (1.0:1.0), and C (0.9:1.0). Participants' hitting opportunities, successful strokes, winning strokes, rally length, and unforced errors were notated manually via video replay. Children’s engagement in pretend play can be influenced by their genders, age, material or toys available, and adults’ support. Pretend play has been long studied globally, however, there is still a dearth of available information about it in the Malaysian context. This study explored 85 young children’s engagement in pretend play at home from the perspectives of parents, the differences in engagement based on children’s age and gender; and the perceived benefits of pretend play for young children.
