Given the serious personal and societal consequences of adolescents dropping-out of school and behaving in self-destructive ways, it is very important to be able to identify students who are at risk of failure. Identifying and assisting at-risk students through counselling interventions will provide better understanding of issues resulting from academic failure at school. This study explored the perspectives and approaches of eight school counsellors with regard to identifying and assisting students considered to be academically and behaviorally at-risk. Kajian ini bertujuan menentukan tahap pemilihan orientasi matlamat dalam kalangan pelajar atlet sekolah menengah lelaki dan perempuan. Selain itu, kajian ini juga melihat strategi-strategi yang sangat kerap digunakan bagi menangani stres. Akhir sekali, kajian ini menjelaskan perkaitan di antara orientasi matlamat dengan strategi menangani stres dalam kalangan pelajar atlet.Responden seramai 348 orang telah di pilih dalam kalangan pelajar atlet lelaki dan perempuan daripada 8 buah sekolah menengah di Daerah Papar, Sabah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal selidik Task Ego Orientation Sport Questionaire (TEOSQ) dan Cockburn Questionaire (eQ). Hasil dapatan menunjukkan orientasi matlamat pelajar atlet lelaki dan perempuan lebih kepada orientasi tugasan ( M=3.96, SD=0.72) berbanding orientasi ego (M=3.l7, SD=0.81). The study examined the types and purposes of communication skills and strategies (CSs) used by English teachers in secondary classrooms. In addition, the teachers' perceptions of communication skills and CSs were also examined. Two excellent English language teachers in secondary schools in the northern regions of Malaysia were involved. Data were collected from classroom observations and interviews. Findings based on observations show that the teachers' communication with the students started with sociating, directing, giving instructions as well as summarising. The most common communication skills used by the teachers in the classrooms were explaining, questioning and eliciting. There were also nonverbal communication skills used by the teachers such as eye contacts, facial expressions and hand movements. Penyelidikan ini dijalankan dengan tujuan memberi definisi dan konsep yang lebih jelas untuk kemahiran insaniah daripada sudut pandangan yang pelbagai. Pandangan daripada graduan, orang awam selaku pelanggan perkhidmatan, majikan yang mengambil pekerja, universiti yang menawarkan kursus dan tokoh informan yang sudah mencapai kejayaan harus diambil kira bagi mendapatkan tafsiran yang tepat terhadap kemahiran insaniah. This research aimed to investigate the optimisation of hybrid CO2-philic surfactant chemical structure in stabilising water-in-Oo- (w/c) microemulsions. The optimisation was carried out by synthesise anionic surfactants analogue of AerosolOT(sodium bis (2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate) template with the modification on hydrocarbon CO2-philic chain type and surfactant headgroup. Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance eH NMR) spectroscopy and CHNS-O elemental analysis were used to characterize the chemical structure and purity of the surfactants. The performances of surfactant were investigated through high-pressure phase behaviour, surface tension measurement, and UV-Visible spectroscopy. Research finding showed that fluorination on hybrid AOT analogue surfactant structure is the key factor affecting the CO2-philicity of the surfactant. The CO2-philicity of hybrid AOT analogue surfactants enhanced by utilising highly methylated branched hydrocarbon tail hence reduces the interfacial tension bet.....
