Augmented reality for the disabled: review articles

Augmented Reality or "AR" has been recognized for its significant importance in different areas of technology, not to mention its significant presence in the education sector. This research aimed to map the relevant literature on AR usage with the aim of rehabilitating people with disabilities. The search was performed on three databases: Science Direct, IEEE Explore and Web of Science from 2013 to 2018. . Based on our inclusion and exclusion criteria, (n=13) articles were selected. Seven of the studies (n=7/13) intellectual disability. Six of the studies (n=6/6) physical disability. The basic idea of this article is to measure the size of the virtual environment utilization in order to rehabilitate the disabled, in addition to the ability of modern technology to restore people with disabilities to normal life and integration into society. The framework of mobile E-learning based on embedded technology for rural schools

The problem of using the e-learning system in schools is not about the technology but how to deliver learning contents efficiently via a network. However, the conditions of most existing network infrastructure are not conducive for such a use, which inevitably becomes a huge obstacle to delivering such contents. In particular, such an obstacle is more critical in rural areas where the internet connection is nearly non-existent. Unmitigated, this will adversely affect the government’s effort to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural schools. An entrepreneurship framework in the new venture creation among art education students

Entrepreneurship education has a bearing on new venture creation of economic growth, promoting a variety of products and services, stimulating investments, and creating jobs. The main elements behind entrepreneurship particularly for new venture creation processes have been widely highlighted by researchers. The role of various media applications and platforms in learning can be accessed through the Internet enables to expand businesses globally. Exploring the factors affecting quality of work life among Millennial Academic Staff in Malaysian Public Universities

The article aims to explore factors that affects the quality of work life (QWL) among millennial academic staff in Malaysian public universities. Qualitative approach using semi-structured interview was conducted on ten millennial academic staff from four public universities in Malaysia to provide an in-depth explanation on the important factors that affect their QWL. The data were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings identified that factors such as heavy workload, inadequate facilities, lack of advanced technology, leaders that provide less care on welfare, as well as students’ issue could affect the ability of the millenial academics to achieve a good QWL. On the other hand, other factors such as flexibility, supportive colleagues and job security help to ease their working life, hence, making their job more meaningful. A proposed methodology of bringing past life in digital cultural heritage through crowd simulation: a case study in George Town, Malaysia

One of the heritages can be denoting to the values of human activity in the past and its cultural oral narratives. To virtualize these heritages, it means to actualize the heritage into the digital content. When attempting to understand a particular cultural heritage site, the challenge here is that the connection to the past is non-existence due to insufficient historical information of the heritage sites. On the other hand, crowd simulation has been widely applied for the purpose of construction and reconstruction of tangible and intangible digital heritage. The purpose of this research is to study how effectively collaborative writing essay can help to improve ESL students’ essay writing skills. The main aim of the study is to ascertain if collaborative writing helped to improve students’ essays in aspects like organization, development and structure. This study aims to determine if students who are engaged in collaborative writing show a greater improvement in essay writing compared to students who write using the traditional (syllabus based) writing method. The effects of the collaborative writing method on the attitudes and perception of the learners were also established. The findings of the study showed that the students are able to generate ideas and develop a change in attitude towards writing after going through the collaborative writing treatment. Pengetahuan dan kesediaan guru terhadap kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi bagi mata pelajaran sains di daerah Bentong

Kajian  ini  bertujuan  mengenal  pasti  pengetahuan  dan  kesediaan  guru  terhadap Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi (KBAT) bagi mata pelajaran Sains. Reka bentuk tinjauan telah  digunakan dalam kajian ini. Pemilihan sampel kajian dijalankan secara rawak melibatkan guru mata  pelajaran Sains dari 12 buah sekolah di daerah Bentong. Soal selidik mengandungi 3 bahagian, iaitu  profil demografi responden, pengetahuan dan kesediaan responden tentang KBAT. Data dianalisis  secara deskriptif menggunakan kekerapan, min, peratusan dan sisihan piawai bagi menjelaskan ketiga-  tiga bahagian dalam soal selidik. Analisis deskriptif menjelaskan pengetahuan dan kesediaan guru  Sains terhadap KBAT, manakala statistik inferens pula melibatkan ujian-t, ujian ANOVA dan ujian  korelasi yang menerangkan perbezaan dan hubungan antara pemboleh ubah kajian. Hasil kajian  menunjukkan bahawa responden kajian mempunyai pengetahuan (M=2.44, SP=0.501) dan kesediaan (M=2.36,  SP=0.483) ya.....

Pengetahuan lokal tentang alam sekitar dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Kadazandusun

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti pengetahuan lokal tentang alam sekitar dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP) Bahasa Kadazandusun (BKD). Objektif kajian adalah untuk  mengenal pasti perbezaan antara tahap pengetahuan lokal dalam kalangan guru BKD berdasarkan umur,  pengalaman mengajar dan pengkhususan. Seterusnya, untuk mengenal pasti hubungan antara pengetahuan  lokal guru BKD dengan kemahiran berbahasa BKD dan menganalis faktor pengetahuan lokal yang  mempengaruhi strategi PdP guru BKD. Kajian ini melibatkan 30 orang guru BKD di sekolah menengah di  dua daerah iaitu Tambunan dan Keningau Sabah. Reka bentuk kajian kuantitatif digunakan iaitu jenis  tinjauan dan borang soal selidik sebagai instrumen kajian. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif  berdasarkan pembolehubah- pembolehubah kajian.
