The effects of the station rotation model in promoting Libyan students’ EFL writing: blended learning

In the new digital age, educational technology has been commonly integrated to improve educational practices. Despite the existence of basic facilities in secondary schools of Libya, the use of technology has not been officially encouraged and practiced by instructors. Likewise, there is no empirical account on how technology implementation could improve secondary school students’ writing performance. This study aimed to explore how students’ engagement in a Station Rotation Model (SRM) using a blended learning approach, could improve their writing performance. This study employed a quasi-experimental design, which includes 51 second-graders for the experimental (26 students) and control group (25 students) in a Libyan secondary state school in Alkhoms, Libya. Berdasarkan kajian lepas, terdapat isu guru pelatih kurang pengetahuan dan terlalu bergantung pada buku teks. Kebanyakan guru pelatih masih belum bersedia dalam menjalani Latihan Mengajar (LM). Terdapat juga guru pelatih yang melanggar tatasusila perguruan menunjukkan perilaku tidak baik. Antara objektif kajian ini adalah mengenal pasti keterampilan dan keperibadian Guru Pelatih Pendidikan Islam (GPPI) ketika menjalani LM di sekolah. Kedua adalah mengkaji keupayaan dan minat GPPI dalam menambah ilmu pengetahuan dan kemahiran. Ketiga pula adalah menilai penguasaan GPPI dalam pengurusan pembelajaran. Antara kaedah penyelidikan yang digunakan dalam kajian adalah kuantitatif menggunakan instrument borang selidik, kemudian diedarkan responden kalangan GPPI semester 7 yang telah menjalani LM daripada Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Metabolites profiling and fingerprinting of the ethanolic extract of Zingiber zerumbet (L.) Roscoe ex Sm.

Zingiber zerumbet (L.) Roscoe ex Sm. is a herbaceous medicinal plant from the Zingiberaceae family. Previous studies have mainly focused on the essential oils of the plant with little attention to its secondary metabolites. LCMS-Orbitrap is used to analyze ethanolic extract of Z. zerumbet rhizome. Dereplication is a technique applied to identify chemical constituents based on their accurate mass and comparison with custom databases, Dictionary of Natural Products (DNP), and literature using an operating system named MZmine 2.53. In this study, we have identified chemical constituents related to several classes, including flavonoids, terpenoids, diarylheptanoids, terpenes, phenolic compounds, and fatty acids. Teachers’ and students’ perceptions towards the station rotation model a case of Libyan EFL writing classroom

Abstract: As information and communication technologies (ICT) have rapidly developed, computers and internet are widely used in many fields. The aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in online and blended education receiving a lot of attention due to the significant increase in online course enrollments. In this vein, this paper will give insights on the teachers and students’ perceptions towards using a model of Blended Learning named the Station Rotation Model (SRM) in a Libyan EFL writing classroom. Using a single case method, two teachers and students using the SRM in a school located in Libya were cross-examined using in-depth interview and focus group discussions. The findings revealed that after the implementation of the SRM model in the Libyan school, both students and teachers were satisfied with the learning outcomes. The findings further pointed out that the SRM resulted into positive educational effects. However, some serious concerns were shown by both teachers.....
