1 | 2016 article | Evaluation on the implementation of Bachelor of Education program, Faculty of Sport Science and Coaching Jani Julismah, Mohd Shariff Abdul Rahim, Salimin Norkhalid, Shahril Mohd Izwan, Mohd Rasyid Nelfianty, Jusoh Normah, Low Jeffrey, Fook Lee, Elumalai G Journal of Sports Science and Physical Education 5(1): 77-94, 2016 - This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Bachelor of Education (Honours) programmes offered by the Faculty of Sports Science and Coaching in producing quality graduates and their employability in the profession. Samples for this study comprised of 49 graduates from the B Ed (Sports Science), 25 graduates from B Ed (Coaching Science) and nine B Ed (Physical Education) who have graduated from 2010 to 2014 as well as their respective employers and peers were selected as respondents. Six to ten samples from each programme together with their employers were interviewed further using guided questionnaire. Data was analysed descriptively as well as correlation and regression methods. The findings showed that the graduates mastered very high levels of the knowledge and skills of the courses related to their respective programmes. 3 | 2019 article | Relationship of PSYCO-sosial maturity and aggressive behavior among school children Abd Rahim Mohd Shariff This study was conducted to determine the social support mechanism, emotional literacy and its relationship as a predictor of aggressive behaviour among secondary school students. Skor Keagresifan Pelajar Sekolah (English: student aggression score) or termed as SKiPS was used to obtain the data. The study had been conducted at three secondary schools (N=212) in Malaysia. The findings revealed that social competence of cooperation, social communication competence, emotional literacy, friend social support, and family social support were found negatively correlated with physical aggression, indirect aggression, verbal aggression and authority aggression. On the other hand, a positive relationship was found between the teacher's social support and the student’s physical aggression, indirect aggression, verbal aggression and authority aggression. 4 | 2019 article | Multidimensional psychometric evaluation of secondary school student aggression and its proposed solution based on integrated social pedagogy Abd. Rahim Mohd. Shariff This study introduced new multidimension scale of SKiPS (student aggression score) to measure the self-aggression that were reported at secondary school in Malaysia. This scale has been developed with special focus in school by using samples from three lower secondary school (initial study: N = 120; main study: N = 212 and test-retest validity: N = 40) for samples from one secondary school (N= 40) representing secondary school in Malaysia. Exploration analysis using the main components of analysis (PCA) reveals four factors structure; oral aggression, physical aggression and authority aggression are interrelated. Structure model assessment (SEM-PLS) showed that scaled items form four factors that relate to higher aggression factors. Structures are stable over different age groups. The scale shows sufficient internal consistency, simultaneous validity and retest stability. 5 | 2023 article | Development of educational-based psychosocial resilience model guidelines for student survival in new normative routines Abd Rahim Mohd Shariff This study aims to review student-athletes resilience power, coping power, and protective power in surviving the new norm routine in Malaysia. Aspects of the resilience dimension include self-confidence, self-discipline, self-ability, self-control, and self-determination. In addition, this study also aims to identify whether there are differences in resilience and coping dimensions based on some demographic factors. Both aspects of the survey, namely the level of resilience and coping, identify this difference obtained from data collected through questionnaires. The study sample consisted of school students in Malaysia. A total of 190 study samples were randomly selected. This study uses a quantitative approach.
