Music education plays a very important role in children’s lives. Music can be used to assist children in learning other subjects such as language, mathematics, science and physical movements. Although teachers may be aware of the benefits and significance of music for children, they are not necessarily able to conduct lessons effectively. Many studies have revealed that preschool and primary school teachers lack skills in teaching music. This study sought to investigate three main components of music teaching readiness—content knowledge, professional development and instructional strategies among non-specialised music teachers in government preschools in the state of Perak. A questionnaire was used to collect data in this cross-sectional survey. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics. Penderaan emosi kepada kawalan paksaan dan pencerobohan ekspresif seperti penghinaan dan panggilan nama di antara dua pihak. Isu penderaan emosi dalam hubungan romantik dikaji kerana kajian sedia ada masih terhad dan kurangnya bukti berlakunya penderaan emosi dalam kalangan pelajar terutamanya dalam konteks tempatan. Kajian ini telah dijalankan untuk mengkaji pengaruh faktor psikososial iaitu tret personaliti lima faktor, tahap kesunyian dan gaya keibubapaan terhadap penderaan emosi dalam kalangan pelajar universiti di Malaysia yang pernah menjalinkan hubungan romantik untuk sekurang-kurangnya tempoh tiga bulan. Data kajian ini dikumpulkan melalui kaedah kuantitatif iaitu dengan menggunakan metod tinjauan. School refusal can lead to short and long-term impairing consequences if not treated. This case study describes the management of a 13-year-old boy who presented with school refusal comorbid with medically unexplained paralysis and depression with psychotic features. The patient underwent a psychological assessment to clarify his diagnosis, followed by developmentally appropriate cognitive behavioral therapy. With these interventions, the patient showed promising improvement in his well-being and functioning. This study illustrates a case with unique association of school refusal, depression, dissociation in conversion disorder, and psychosis. The patient’s complex comorbidity required an individualized case formulation and a systemic intervention approach for effective management. The study underscores the need for future research to focus on identifying risk factors for early detection of school refusal and exploring the role of dissociation in conversion disorder and psychosis.
