This study was conducted with the aim of building a suitable instrument to collect data about the learning styles of students who are taking physics at the secondary school level. The absence of an instrument which is able to evaluate students’ learning styles in learning physics in Malaysia makes it all the more imperative for one to be constructed. This instrument is to be used specifically by students and teachers to identify the prominent learning style for physics. This study was conducted in three secondary schools in Kuantan, Pahang. A total of 216 students comprising boys and girls of various ethnic groups were chosen as the sample for this study. The data collected were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) version 13.0 software. A total of 43 items were constructed based on the Multiple Intelligences Theory.
