Kajian ini berfokus kepada haptik, proksemiks dan kronemiks yang diperhatikan dalam adat perkahwinan masyarakat Melayu di Perak. Tiga objektif dirangka untuk kajian ini, iaitu untuk mengenal pasti penggunaan haptik, proksemiks dan kronemiks dalam adat perkahwinan Melayu. Objektif kedua pula menganalisis kepentingan ketiga-tiga aspek ini dalam adat perkahwinan tersebut dan objektif ketiga menghuraikan globalisasi dan pengaruh media terhadap haptik, proksemiks dan kronemiks dalam adat perkahwinan Melayu. Kaedah kualitatif dan reka bentuk kajian etnografi diaplikasikan dalam kajian ini. Proses pengutipan data melibatkan tujuh buah majlis perkahwinan di kampung-kampung di pinggir bandar raya Ipoh dan tiga buah hotel di sekitar bandar raya Ipoh. Kajian ini bertujuan membuat analisis tentang penggunaan kronemiks atau masa dalam majlis perkahwinan masyarakat Melayu di negeri Perak. Majlis perkahwinan dalam masyarakat Melayu merupakan satu acara yang menyatukan dua individu lelaki dan perempuan secara sah menurut hukum Islam. Di dalam majlis ini terkandung elemen utama, iaitu masa yang penting dalam menentukan perjalanan majlis berkenaan agar sempurna. Masa menjadi elemen yang penting kerana penentuan perjalanan dan kesempurnaan majlis perkahwinan adalah antaranya tertakluk kepada penetapan masa-masa yang ditetapkan berdasarkan keperluan adat. Dengan mengambil pendekatan kualitatif dan reka bentuk etnografi, penyelidik mengambil masa selama empat bulan dengan berada bersama-sama dalam sepuluh buah majlis perkahwinan. Addiction to social media addiction is considered a leading risk factor for depression among adolescents, but the relationship needs to be supported empirically. This study investigates the social media addiction level and its association with depression among Malaysian adolescents. A cross-sectional study was conducted by distributing a structured questionnaire to potential respondents aged 13 to 21 years old from Johor and Sarawak. Data were analysed in SPSS using descriptive statistics, correlation, and Chi-square tests. Overall, 72.0% and 33.0% of the 384 respondents recorded high levels of social media addiction and depression, respectively. A significant and low positive relationship was detected between social media addiction and depression among adolescents. The levels of social media addiction and depression differed across age groups, gender, race, and the time spent on social media platforms. The emergence of digitalisation focusing on media literacy is becoming more prevalent and thus forcing educators to embrace innovations as our digital natives are now shifting their attention to digital technologies. This study aimed to develop and measure an assessment instrument for media literacy focusing on knowledge, skills, and values for digital natives in Malaysia. Adopting the digital intelligence (DQ) framework, we have constructed the assessment instrument relevant to our digital natives of secondary school students and distributed it across schools in eleven states and one Federal Territory of Malaysia. We received a complete set of instruments from 1,276 respondents of Form Two and Form Four students and analyse the data by using descriptive and statistical analysis through SPSS.
