Kajian ini dihasilkan bertujuan untuk mendapatkan maklumat tentang transformasi yang berlaku ke atas motif blok batik Samasa Batik dari tahun 1960an hingga 2009. Batasan kajian hanya tertumpu kepada motif blok batik SAMASA Batik yang bertempat di kampung Puteh Kota Bharu. Terdapat empat aspek penting menjadi tumpuan kajian iaitu pengaruh terhadap penciptaan motif, transformasi motif, gaya olahan dan membangunkan dokumen sejarah blok batik SAMASA. Teori kebudayaan (Geertz, 1973) dan konsep seni rupa Melayu (Syed Ahmad Jamal, 1992) diaplikasikan serta dijadikan sebagai panduan semasa proses pengumpulan dan analisis data dijalankan.
