This article questions the symbolic representations of women and their spiritual and physical belongings in contemporary arts. In the Islamic world, there are many pop cultures that produced different symbolisms of feminine images, and used it in different socio political contexts to express symbolic messages. Such symbolisms may express spiritual connotations referring to religious backgrounds, while others may not because artists in the Islamic world represent many social issues from their communities. The purpose of this research was to compare the Omani and Malaysian students' motivation toward science learning in secondary schools. Motivation is an important component from any teaching and learning process. The results of previous studies revealed that students with better motivation usually perform better in school grades. The sample size is 359 students: 37.6% of them were Malaysian (135 students) while 62.4% were Omani (224 students). The 30-item Science Motivation Questionnaire (SMQ) was used in this research. It was developed by Glynn, Taasoobshirazi and Brickman. The results showed that the students had a “moderate” motivation in general. Regarding the subcategories, the students had “high Extrinsically Motivation” while they had a “moderate” level of motivation in the other subcategories or motivational factors. Reading skill becomes the pioneer and the most vital skill at the tertiary level, it is the gateway to every academic achievement. This study analyses the Yemeni EST senior secondary reading curriculum to explore how well this curriculum prepares secondary school level students for reading content area subjects at the tertiary level. The data were collected through document review and classroom observation. The framework of this study was based on a revised model of Sidek (2010) of method analysis of the teaching of reading skill. The findings on the emphasis on reading skill and the level of cognitive demands of reading tasks indicated that reading skill is greatly and explicitly emphasized in the selected curriculum; however, the curriculum partially prepares secondary school students for tertiary reading in terms of the level of cognitive demands of reading tasks. The purpose of this research is to integrate STS issues in the 1st grade physics curriculum in secondary school in Yemen. The results of previous studies revealed that there are many issues to be infused in physics curriculum in Yemen. As a result, the researchers developed an STS issues-based module for the 1st grade physics curriculum. STS content serves as an organizer for the science content and its sequence. In accordance with STS orientation, the researchers create the STS teaching model. To ensure that the objectives have been achieved; a list of criteria to evaluate the issues-based physics module has been used. The criteria are included in a questionnaire that is valid and reliable. A sample of 28 physics teachers and 10 experts in science education responded to this questionnaire. The purpose of this research was to investigate the artworks of contemporary Middle Eastern artists in Singapore Biennale regarding to the social reality issues. The subjects within the research context were the role of Middle Eastern artists in responding to the issues of social reality and the uniqueness of their artistic representations. The research also looked at the contribution of the artworks within the concept of glocalization that challenged the stereotypical representations of social issues.
