| 1 | 2018 Thesis | Modelling child persona for social behaviours in social network sites Noor Hidayah Azmi Children are becoming dependent on social network sites (SNS) to gratify their social needs. They are increasingly becoming users of SNS and emerging as an important user group. Despite much literature on children, not much is known about the social behaviour of the children when they gain access to SNS. It is due to limited access to children due to policy, legal or ethical reasons. This research identified children social behaviour to understand how they behave in SNS. Subsequent to this, a child persona was modelled to represent children as a social networker. The creation of persona involved three steps, including collecting user data, segmenting data into groups and transferring data into persona. In user research, qualitative approach was carried out through self-reporting method such as cultural probes and interviews. It involved seven children between the ages of 10-12 years old. sharing information. Social media applications, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Second Life,
and Flickr, have become a global phenomenon attracting millions of users. Thus, social media
popularity and its unique features contribute to potential e-learning, especially in online
distance learning. It increases interest among educators to make use of social media
technologies in education. It is also attracting the attention of many researchers to examine the
usage and implications of social media applications, implemented in education.

Particularly, the Malaysian government's Movement Control Order (MCO) forced both students and teachers to turn to online learning. It is true that its adoption is rife with fresh difficulties, including network coverage, device appropriateness, and socio-economic status of students, and digital competency, which makes teaching and learning at home incredibly difficult. Since students have a variety of learning needs, abilities, skills, and goals, it is crucial to develop learner profiles that can aid in the development of appropriate online learning approaches in order to address such issues. A systematic review of the most recent literature was conducted using three major databases: Scopus, ERIC, and Mendeley, as was envisioned in this context.
