Modelling child persona for social behaviours in social network sites
Noor Hidayah Azmi
Children are becoming dependent on social network sites (SNS) to gratify their social needs. They are increasingly becoming users of SNS and emerging as an important user group. Despite much literature on children, not much is known about the social behaviour of the children when they gain access to SNS. It is due to limited access to children due to policy, legal or ethical reasons. This research identified children social behaviour to understand how they behave in SNS. Subsequent to this, a child persona was modelled to represent children as a social networker. The creation of persona involved three steps, including collecting user data, segmenting data into groups and transferring data into persona. In user research, qualitative approach was carried out through self-reporting method such as cultural probes and interviews. It involved seven children between the ages of 10-12 years old. The initial phase in user research involved designing children's probes for capturing social behavi.....

A review of social media applications in education
Noor Hidayah Azmi
Social media has gained m popularity as a social communication tool and become  increasingly   important  in our daily lives. Social  media are primarily application tools for discussing and  sharing information. Social media applications, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Second Life,  and Flickr, have become a global phenomenon attracting millions of users. Thus, social media  popularity and its unique features contribute to potential e-learning, especially in online  distance learning.  It  increases  interest among educators to make  use of social  media  technologies in education. It is also attracting the attention of many researchers to examine the  usage and implications of social media applications, implemented in education.   This project attempts to review the functions and uniqueness of social media applications. It also  focuses on current research findings and their impact in education. A "Documentation and  Application Review" method is us.....

Student Profiling for Online Learning During Covid-19: A Systematic Review
Noor Hidayah Azmi, Norshahila Ibrahim, Erni Marlina Saari, Asilah Abdul Mutalib
The Covid-19 epidemic has spurred significant changes in learning paradigms in several countries, including Malaysia. Particularly, the Malaysian government's Movement Control Order (MCO) forced both students and teachers to turn to online learning. It is true that its adoption is rife with fresh difficulties, including network coverage, device appropriateness, and socio-economic status of students, and digital competency, which makes teaching and learning at home incredibly difficult. Since students have a variety of learning needs, abilities, skills, and goals, it is crucial to develop learner profiles that can aid in the development of appropriate online learning approaches in order to address such issues. A systematic review of the most recent literature was conducted using three major databases: Scopus, ERIC, and Mendeley, as was envisioned in this context. The review helped identify 23 relevant publications that were then subjected to a thematic analysis, which helped reveal thre.....

Development of Energy Saving Application through Gamification-Factors: A Systematic Review
Erni Marlina Saari, Noor Hidayah Azmi, Norshahila Ibrahim
Multiple approaches can be applied to raise the awareness about energy conservation, especially when engaging the younger generation. To date, there is a lack of a comprehensive review on the development of energy-saving applications through a gamification approach among undergraduate students. Thus, this study aims to systematically review the factors that influence the development of energy-saving applications using the PRISMA framework. The works of literature assessed in the study are indexed by Scopus, Mendeley and ERIC databases. This paper reviewed the related studies done by previous researchers related to the energy saving factors and how the application through gamification would impact the learners. Three themes are discussed in the current work: the awareness of energy saving, the effectiveness of the gamification application towards energy and behaviour among undergraduate students towards energy saving. © 2024, Semarak Ilmu Publishing. The Evaluation of Augmented Reality Dictionary to Improve English Vocabulary
Norshahila Ibrahim, Erni Marlina Saari, Noor Hidayah Azmi
English is an important subject for scoring in primary and secondary school exams in Malaysia. However, students are exposed to countless grammatical errors and are affected by the dialect they use in daily communication, especially for students who live in Kelantan. They are used to the use of dialect words in daily conversation. Therefore, they faced difficulties in understanding and translating the words from Bahasa Melayu to English. Furthermore, there is a lack of mobile application dictionaries to help primary school students to translate Kelantan’s dialect into English. The objectives of this research are (i) to analyse the needs and requirements to develop an AR mobile application to translate Kelantan’s dialect into English, (ii) to develop an AR mobile application that can look up the meaning of Kelantan’s dialect in English accurately, (iii) to evaluate the usability of the mobile application in terms of compatibility, consistency, flexibility, and learnability, and (i.....
