1 | 2019 thesis | An exploration Orang Asli Indigenous Knowledge and Practices of Green Technology in selected settlements in Peninsular Malaysia Regina Lambin The purpose of this study was to explore the Orang Asli Indigenous Knowledge and
Practice of Green Technology (IKPGT) at selected settlements in Peninsular Malaysia. A case study
with ‘multiple cases and multiple sites’ was used as the research design. The five domains of IKPGT
identified in this study, i.e., medicine, food, music, forestry, and handicraft were derived from
the two models, namely, An Integrated Model of Indigenous Economy, Social World and Ecosystems and
First Nations Holistic Lifelong Learning Model. Both these models were selected because they
contained the relevant variables for this study. Interview protocols, observations and document
analyses were used to obtain the qualitative data. Ten informants from Mah Meri, Semai, Temuan,
Bateq dan Semaq Beri were involved in the interviews. The interviews were video and audio-taped,
transcribed in verbatim, analyzed, and imported into Atlas.ti software for data processing. The
