Dapatan menunjukkan..... 1448 hits |

| 2019 article | Overview of selected native seeds in agricultural wastes and its properties Shakinaz Desa Agricultural waste is considered as the valuable assert in the world, they can be actively used as fibers, fertilizer, biogas production, softwood furniture manufacturing etc. However, limitations are to be taken into account. Generally, seeds play a major role in agricultural waste which indicated with huge amount of nutritive value and phytoconstituents. They reflect the therapeutic activity. In this review, we discussed the seeds phytoconstituents and their utility as bioactive agent. In near future, it would be efficient to gain knowledge of seeds which is considered as a waste in their therapeutic evaluation and also as nutritive value.. 1762 hits |
| 2019 article | Investigation on the antibacterial activity and phytochemical screening of the fruit seed extracts of agro waste Shakinaz Desa The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the seed extracts from agro waste to examine the effectiveness of antimicrobial. Therefore, by using the disc diffusion assay, the antibacterial activity was evaluated along with two medically important bacterial pathogens such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) (MRSA) and Escherichia coli (E. coli) in the seed extracts of Cucurbita sp., Carica papaya L., Nephelium lappaceum, Mangifera indica, Durio zibethius and Artocarpus heterphyllus Lam seeds. Seed extracts of agro waste were analyzed for the phytochemical constituents. Analysis of the qualitative phytochemical indicated the importance of phytochemical compounds for instance glycosides, saponins, flavanoids, tannins and alkaloids. Variations had been seen in the inhibition zone depending on the species and different seed extracts concentrations used for bacteria, the highest inhibition zone observed for M. indica and C. papaya L. The obtained data of this st..... 1092 hits |
| 2019 article | Agricultural waste biodiesel potential and physicochemical properties in extracted seeds oil Shakinaz Desa Biodiesel is one of the best available resources that have come to the forefront recently. Malaysia has an abundance of agricultural waste which can be tapped as one of the biodiesel resources. This study aimed at evaluating the appropriate Techniques of drying the plant seeds from the agricultural waste in terms of quantity extract of the oils from seed by using Soxhlet with solvent n-hexane, we compared biodiesel potential between seed oil extracted from Mango kernel (Mangifera indica), Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum),Pumpkin (Cucurbita ps) and Papaya (Carica Papaya. L). we examined the oil physicochemical properties. In order to establish an optimum condition for the production of biodiesel, parameters such as catalyst loading, reaction temperature, methanol to oil molar ratio were studied. The results analyzed revealed that the transesterification of the Nephelium Lappaceu oil, the condition of the optimum reaction was found to be 65oC reaction temperature, 12:1 molar ratio of metha..... 949 hits |
| 2019 article | Mini-review of Phytochemistry for Polyalithia Longiflia Shakinaz Desa The review was aimed to review the phytochemical of the Polyalithia longiflia. Phytochemical screening for all parts of Polyalithia longiflia have been done and shown most of the chemical group compounds such as glycosides, Sterol, Carbohydrates, terpenoids, flavonoids. 174compounds have been isolated from five parts (leaves, steam bark, seeds, fruits, root) of Polyalithia longiflia, these compounds have been drown their structure. Leaves of Polyalithia longiflia were extracted and isolated 99 compounds most of these compounds were terpenoids, 59 compounds were isolated from the stem bark belong to different chemical groups such as Terpenoids, Alkaloids, Phenol, Fatty acids, and Steroids, 16 compounds were isolated from the fruit from several chemicals groups, 11 compounds were isolated from the root,7 compounds were isolated from the seeds which belong to different chemical groups which are Terpenoids, Fatty Acids, and Carbohydrate. Many of these compound have been used in medical fil..... 3325 hits |
| 2021 article | The readiness of integrating sustainable development into biology teacher education program Shakinaz Desa The idea of sustainability has long become a regulatory concept applied in national and international policies worldwide. This study aimed to investigate the understanding, attitude, and behavior levels towards education and sustainable development among key players in teacher education program, particularly in Biology, including learners, educators, administrators, and supporting personnel from the Biology Department of a public university in Malaysia. A set of validated questionnaires was administered online to 61 participants. A semi-structured interview was carried out with 9 randomly selected participants. An expert in the curriculum was referred to in search of integration of sustainable development in the current pro forma. Readiness was found highest in behavior, followed by both understanding and attitude. Courses in the Biology Teacher Education program need a well-planned integration to meet the sustainable development concept. Thus, we recommend readiness analysis as a part..... 613 hits |
