1 | 2017 article | Relationship between pupils perceptions towards "Big 7" method and motivation in learning division of whole numbers Siao, Chin Tze Division seems to be the algorithm that the pupils struggle the most to master it. Therefore, “Big 7” method is introduced to help them to master it. This study is conducted to ascertain the perceptions and the motivation of year Three pupils of SJKs in Baram district towards the use of “Big 7” method in the learning of division of whole numbers. The study also examines the relationship between the pupils’ perceptions towards the use of “Big 7” method and the pupils’ motivation in the learning of division of whole numbers. The data for this study is collected using a set of questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results show that the pupils have a positive perception (Mean=3.72) towards “Big 7” method. Motivation of the pupils is identified to be in the category of moderate with an average mean of 3.55.
