1 | 2023 article | Plyometric training method potentially increasing explosive power of swimmer\'s leg muscles compared to untrained swimmers Jaffry Zakaria Plyometric training is important for swimmers because it provides several important benefits that can improve their performance and performance when swimming. This study aims to determine the potential of plyometric training to improve leg muscle explosiveness and athlete performance in swimming. Pre and post control groups were employed in this experimental investigation. Purposive sampling was used to choose the research volunteers, after which they were split into two groups. namely G1 which only followed swimming training without being given a land training program or plyometrics, and G2 was given plyometric training treatment. The research subjects were 30 male athletes aged 18-19 years who were active in participating in training camps. There was plyometric training for eighteen meetings, four times a week. The individual completed the vertical jump test to collect pre-test data prior to receiving therapy. In this study's statistical analysis, the descriptive tests were used to d..... 98 hits |
2 | 2023 article | The influence of android-based gymnastics learning media on cartwheel skills Jaffry Zakaria Cartwheels are one of the gymnastics skills in Physical Education (PE) teaching that must be mastered by junior high school students. In their teaching, PE teachers must be able to create innovative and interactive learning, thereby generating student motivation to master this skill. This study aims to analyze the effect of using Android-based gymnastics learning media on cartwheel skills in junior high school students. This research is an application of one of the Android-assisted exercise materials for junior high school students developed from Handayani et al study (Handayani et al., 2023), where one of the gymnastics materials in the application is cartwheel skills which will be reported in this research. This research was a pre-experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design, involving 63 junior high school students in one of the provinces in Indonesia. Participants were seventh and eighth grade male students taking combined PE classes, and aged 12-13 years. The procedure in t..... 93 hits |
3 | 2023 article | The effect of combined continuous run, circuit training, and high-intensity interval training on lung function, asthma control, and VO2max in asthma patients: A quasi-experimental study Jaffry Zakaria Background: The serious implications of asthma stem largely from inadequate control of the condition, affecting individuals with both regular and irregular physical activities. Objective: This study aims to assess the effect of Continuous Run (CR), Circuit Training (CT), and High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) over a 3-month period on reducing, controlling, and improving fitness in individuals with asthma. Methods: The research employed a quasi-experimental study design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The treatment involved physical exercise programs (CR, CT, and HIIT) conducted at the athletic field of Padang State University from June 2023 to August 2023. A total of 21 participants (16 males and 5 females) were recruited to participate in this research. They were chosen after meeting inclusion criteriaasthma diagnosis, physical inactivity, between 17 and 40 years old, willingness to refrain from other treatments except using an inhaler in case of relapse, and providin..... 79 hits |
4 | 2023 article | Special recommendations for home-based physical training: impact of sedentary due to stay at home Covid-19 pandemic on physical fitness Jaffry Zakaria The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of sedentary stay at home due to the covid-19 pandemic on physical fitness and to examine the effects of home-based physical activity on physical fitness levels during the covid-19 crisis in Indonesia. This study used a mixed method sequential exploration design consisting of a quantitative stage and a qualitative stage. The sample used was 228 children and adolescents aged 5-17 years, n = 143 adults and elderly > 17, n = 85 people, participated in this study voluntarily. Sampling was carried out for the experimental group at random (n: 143) and the control group (n: 85). The experimental group engaged in 8 weeks of home-based physical activity delivered in person and via WhatsApp groups. Data were collected through the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test and semi-structured interview questions. Data analysis using a two-way mixed ANOVA was used to determine the effect of home-based physical activity carried out for 8 weeks with a durati..... 72 hits |
