| 2021 article | Mathematics trainer readiness for PAK-21 integration in mathematics teaching and learning Mazlini Adnan The purpose of this study was to determine the readiness of trainee teachers of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris for integrating 21st century learning (PAK-21) in teaching and learning mathematics in schools. The readiness of trainees was seen from the aspect of interest, knowledge and skills. The study was conducted on 40 teachers of Mathematics trainees who are currently undergoing teaching training. The survey method is used to obtain data. The instrument of study used is a questionnaire. Data from the study were collected and analyzed using Pearson correlation, r to identify the relationship between aspects of PAK-21's interest, knowledge and integration skills. Overall, the results show that the level of readiness of trainee teachers is high in terms of interest, knowledge and skills in integrating PAK-21 in teaching and learning mathematics. In addition, the findings also show that there is a strong positive relationship between the aspects of interest and knowledge while the f..... 530 hits |
| 2021 article | Structural, thermal and surface properties of a formulated sunscreen: Zn/al-nitrate layered double hydroxide intercalated with 4-aminobenzoic acid Mazlini Adnan Intercalation of 4-amino benzoic acid (4-AB) into Zn/Al-nitrate layered double hydroxide (ZAL2) to form Zn/Al-4AB (ZALAB) compound was successfully synthesized from nitrate salt by using direct co-precipitation method. ZALAB compound was confirmed by Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) pattern with a basal spacing of 15.3 . The presence of COO- and C6H5NH2 functional groups of 4-AB at 1,517 and 1,178 cm?1 in Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrum reinforced 4-AB intercalated into the resulting compound. Based on the thermal analysis, 4-AB in ZALAB compound was more stable compared to pure 4-AB. Breuneur, Emmet and Teller/Barret-Joyner-Halenda (BET/BJH) analyses demonstrated that ZALAB compound is a mesopores-type IV compound with 4.25 m2/g surface area. This material is an irregular shape with different sizes of particles. ZALAB is a potential sunscreen formulation that minimizes the harmful effect on the skin, improving pharmaceutical technology in the skincare treatment. ? 2021, W..... 202 hits |
| 2021 article | The ability and analysis of students\' errors in the topic of algebraic expression Mazlini Adnan This study aimed to determine the level of ability of Form One students in the topic of algebraic expressions based on the six levels in the Bloom's Taxonomy Revision. In addition, this study aimed to identify the types of errors of form one students in the topic of algebraic expressions based on Newman's Error Analysis. Respondents of this study consist of 68 form one students were selected from school in Melaka through simple random sampling method. The data in this study has been analysed in a descriptive basis involving frequency, percentages and mean. This study uses the application of [[CHECK_SINGLEQUOT_ENT]] Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) version 26 for the purpose of this analysis. The findings showed that the students have troubled in the topic of algebra. 3 of 6 levels in the Bloom's Taxanomy cannot be responded well by these students. Students only show high levels of mastery in the first two levels of remembering and understanding levels. Students have the mos..... 254 hits |
| 2021 article | The development of STEM-discovery learning module in differential equations: a need analysis Mazlini Adnan The Differential Equations (DE) is an important subject for solving the problems in various fields. However, the teaching and learning of DE in Indonesia are still textbooks-oriented, focusing on delivery knowledge and not considering learning psychology principles. The module is one of the teaching materials that can be used to promote students' activities. Hence, this study aimed to analysis the students' responses to the need for a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-Discovery Learning Module in teaching and learning of DE. The respondents were 124 students, 96 females and 28 males in mathematics and mathematics education in fifteen public and private universities in Indonesia. The data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results revealed that about 60% of respondents stated that the teaching and learning of DE are teacher-centered and without the module. Almost 7% of respondents confirmed the use of the STEM approach in learning, an..... 237 hits |
| 2023 article | The effectiveness of the STEMDISLEARN module in improving students critical thinking skills in the differential equations course Mazlini Adnan This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the STEMDISLEARN module on students critical thinking skills in the DE Course. This research design employed a quasi-experimental non-equivalent pre-test and post-test group. The samples amounted to 123 students, consisting of 64 students in the experimental group and 59 students in the control group. The experimental group used the learning treatment with the STEMDISLEARN module, while the control group employed conventional learning. Meanwhile, the t-test was used as the data analysis technique. Results showed that the two groups had no difference in the average scores of their critical thinking skills before treatment. After treatment, however, there was a difference in the average pre-test and post-test scores between the experimental and control groups. The average post-test scores for critical thinking skills in each group were better than the pre-test scores. However, the increase in the average scores for the experimental group was..... 54 hits |
| 2023 article | Development and Usability of STEAM Textbook Integrated Character Education with Local Wisdom Themes for Primary School Students Mazlini Adnan This study aims to develop a valid, usable, and creative for project-based learning STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) textbook integrating character education with local wisdom themes for primary school students. Design and Development Research (DDR) based on the ADDIE model was used as the research design. Three experts were used to validate the STEAM textbook and 58 mathematics teachers and 60 students of Year 4 from the Perak Tengah district participated in the usability survey. The data were analyzed descriptively (percentage, mean and standard deviation) and Pearson correlation. The results show the STEAM textbook has excellent validity with 90% agreement from the experts. The usability of the STEAM textbook was rated well by teachers with a mean of 4.21 (SD = 0.45) and by students with a mean of 3.69 (SD = 0.17). This indicated that the textbook is usable for teachers and students. Pearson correlation also revealed a strong relationship between the v..... 47 hits |
