1 | 2019 article | The identity of showmanship in Malay musical theaters Muhammad Faisal bin Ahmad The touch of magic in performances is one of the observable ‘wow-factor’ elements through musical theatres. The uniqueness of portraying imagination into reality is a definite difference compared to the other types of theatre performances. The emergence of various Malay musical theatres specifically around the 21st century has displayed variations in their artistic depictions of showmanship following the creator’s understanding and creativity. The showmanship in modern Malay musicals is overshadowed by Western characteristics which is Broadway. The struggle in glorifying Malay musical theatres surprisingly is inclined to follow the pattern shaped by the Westerns as the world’s musical theatres pioneer. 2 | 2021 article | Creative drama as a teaching tool in the classroom Muhammad Faisal Ahmad Previous studies revealed that creative drama has its own advantage in terms of education. In this study, creative drama has been implemented to prove that it has its own role as a teaching tool in the classroom. A qualitative research design was used and data was collected from 10 children as samples in the District of Rawang, Selangor. This study used questionnaire and continuous record as instruments. The study was carried out for two weeks. In this study, the use of creative drama as a teaching tool was found to hold influence over comprehension and behaviour of children in the classroom. It can therefore be concluded that creative drama has a significant role as a teaching tool in the classroom.

3 | 2021 article | Theatre in education: the implementation of improvisation in dialogue pronunciation technique in teaching Muhammad Faisal Ahmad The improvisation in dialogue pronunciation will give significance based on the suitability of its application in teaching contexts. Copying, repetition, appreciation, action and reaction are the elements included in the techniques practised in acting. This study is fully dedicated to the implementation of dialogue pronunciation through improvisation technique which is often highlighted for the actors and actresses in acting. However, what goes unnoticed is the fact that the way a teacher delivers a lesson in a classroom has similarities in function and role as a stage performer. Voice is the main instrument which needs to be used during the whole lesson or performance. The problem statement in this study can be seen from the inability of the teacher to apply an effective dialogue projection technique in their lesson, causing a somber and gloomy classroom.
