Students cognitive development through improvisations in a theatre game-based approach

This study aims to examine students’ cognitive development during the teaching and learning of the topic of Mixed-media Paintings using a theater game-based approach. This study is based on a qualitative approach which involving 8 Form Five students who were selected as the study sample. Data were collected through observations where the researchers examined the learning process which involving five sessions, namely induction, perceptions of art, applications of art, expressions of art, and art in life. Teachers were provided with the modules of theater games and a teaching plan as a guideline for the theater game-based approach in teaching the subject matter based on Bloom’s taxonomic levels of mastery. Data was analyzed using Nvivo software to reveal students’ level of cognitive development based on the twenty-first century learning skills as they performed selected theater games during the learning of Fine Art Specialization. Komunikasi dalam pemahaman Konsep Seni Visual semasa proses pembelajaran murid masalah pendengaran

Komunikasi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran(PdP) merupakan aspek terpenting dalam menjadikan subjek yang diajar menarik sekaligus murid dapat menghargai kepentingan dan menghayati keindahan subjek itu sendiri. Kajian ini melihat bagaimana komunikasi dalam subjek Pendidikan Seni Visual (PSV) dapat meningkatkan kefahaman murid masalah pendengaran (MMP) terhadap konsep seni. Fokus kajian ini untuk mengenal pasti komunikasi dalam pemahaman konsep seni pada MMP pada akhir PdP. Pensampelan melibatkan enam orang MMP yang berumur antara 11 dan 12 tahun yang menghasilkan tugasan mengikut tema yang diberikan, dan empat orang guru yang mengajar PSV. Reka bentuk kajian kes digunakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif berdasarkan kaedah pemerhatian, temu bual dan tugasan. Teori Sosio Budaya yang menekankan kepada kerangka Scaffolding diaplikasikan dalam PdP MMP. Pertubuhan Kesihatan Sedunia (WHO) telah mengisytiharkan bahawa wabak Novel Koronavirus (COVID-19) pada 30 Januari 2020. Virus ini sangat berbahaya dan perlu ditangani penularannya ke serata dunia. Maka, petugas barisan hadapan perlu mengenakan pakaian perlindungan diri(PPE) bagi mengelakkan virus merebak ketika merawat pesakit. PPE bertujuan untuk memastikan keselamatan dan mencegah petugas kesihatan daripada terkena jangkitan COVID-19 namun kekurangan bekalan PPE begitu meruncing ketika ini apabila permintaan terhadap penggunaan PPE menjadi semakin tinggi. Orientasi kekurangan bekalan membuatkan sukarelawan mula memikirkan inisiatif untuk memberikan sumbangan. Ini bagi memenuhi keperluan PPE yang semakin berkurangan dalam penyimpanan stok Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM). Sumbangan menjurus ke arah kepakaran penghasilan peralatan dan pakaian yang mempraktikkan pemikiran inovasi. Pameran Antarabangsa Seni Visual Generasi 21 merupakan program seni inisiatif Katarsis Seni. Ia dirancang khas untuk generasi Z yang terdiri dalam kalangan remaja berusia 13 hingga 21 tahun. Program ini melibatkan penyertaan antarabangsa yang bertujuan untuk melihat kesinambungan pendidikan seni bagi membina jati diri generasi Z di masa hadapan. Tujuan kajian ini adalah bagi mengenal pasti bagaimana sokongan Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) dan Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia (MOTAC) terhadap aktiviti seni remaja di samping melihat kecenderungan karya seni yang dihasilkan oleh remaja generasi Z semasa musim pandemik. Kajian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif iaitu kaedah temu bual dan dokumen analisis. Uncovering Emerging Trends in Technology and Art Education: A Bibliometric Mapping Analysis

The rapid advancements in technology have opened up new doors for both teachers and students to explore, learn, and create in innovative ways. However, this progress has also brought forth new challenges and complexities that demand a deeper understanding of the use of technology in art education. In this context, bibliometric analysis has emerged as a potent tool to examine emerging trends in the intersection of technology and art education. Employing the PRISMA approach (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis) and utilizing relevant Scopus databases with standardized procedures that ensure comprehensiveness and replicability, this bibliometric study identified 29 articles. The number of published articles in 2022, at 12, exceeded that of 2021, with only 6. Information Visualization on the Reading Comprehension for Elementary School Students in Malaysia

Visualization strategies are strategies that utilize images to help strengthen the students' understanding of reading comprehension. Through this strategy, students will describe the meaning obtained from the text in the form of rough sketches. The use of these images allows the students to be more focused on the continuation of reading because they understand the meaning more clearly. This study aims to investigate the impact of information visualization techniques on reading comprehension performance among elementary school students in Malaysia. The study adapted quantitative study through a quasi-experimental design and survey questionnaire. 300 students from Standard 4 to Standard 6 (10 to 12 years old) were chosen as the participants of the study. This study aims to examine the improvement of interpersonal skills through the application of active learning in the teaching and learning of art education. The approach used is the theatre-play approach. Theatre games are used as a fresh and appropriate approach to learning art education subjects through various types of games applied with multiple theatre techniques, including improvisation, role-playing, physical exercise, and voice acting. The issue of art education is a theoretical and practical one that requires high focus during learning. Communication Technology-Enhanced Collaborative and Constructivism Learning in Improving Students’ Skills on Artworks Production: A Structural Equation Modelling Approach

21st century learning is a dynamic and interconnected educational environment that leverages technology, fosters collaboration, and supports continuous and personalized learning. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between learning outcomes, learning contents, deliver y strategies, learning activities and assessment forms in Structured Technology-Enhanced Collaborative (ST-EC) Learning Environment. To fulfil the research purpose, we developed a questionnaire with sufficient reliability as an instrument to evaluate teachers’ perspectives on five components in the ST-EC learning environment. The valid responses were collected from 240 primary school teachers. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) analysis was used to examine the relationship between the constructs in the hypothesised model.
