4 | 2019 article | The effects of HIIT on physical abiulities among special education students Zulakbal Abd Karim This study was conducted to identify the effect of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on physical ability among special education students. A total of 30 participants from a special education school were divided into two groups, treatment group (n=15) and control group (n=15). The treatment group underwent usual normal sports training with additional of HIIT for eight weeks while control group underwent usual normal sports training for the same period of time. The tests that were conducted are 1 minute half sit up, 30m sprint, agility t-test and standing long jump. Independent t-test results showed that treatment group produces significantly greater percentages improvement in performance compared to the control group in all the tests performed. As the conclusion, the inclusion of HIIT in training program increases the physical ability among special educations students

6 | 2019 article | The reality of UPSI football team monitoring program : A qualitative study Zulakbal Abd Karim This study is conducted to identify how the mentoring program is used in sports and how this mentoring program takes place in a sports organization. The population of this study was UPSI students representing the university football team. The selected sample consists of approximately 25 people. The sample consists of players representing the university from the beginning of the student's entry or who have recently been involved in representing the university, but still have background in playing high-level football. The instrument of this study is observation. Observation method is a research method used to measure the research variables. Observation is also an alternative in collecting data other than questionnaires and interviews. Using this method, researchers should observe their samples within a certain timeframe. 7 | 2019 article | Attribute assessment instrument on communication skills, leadership and teamwork among Students in Faculty of Sports Science and Coaching, UPSI Zulakbal Abd Karim The purpose of this study is to design a questionnaire instrument for an attribute assessment oncommunication skills, leadership and teamwork for the students in Faculty of Sports Science and Coaching, Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), Malaysia. Four variables are used to measure the attributes of communication skills, leadership and teamwork, including oral communication, written communication, leadership and teamwork. A number of 212 Sports Science students have been selected as the study sample. The study analysis uses Cronbach's alpha test to obtain reliability of the instrument. Factor analysis is also used to obtain validity on social skill and responsibility instruments. Finding from the factor analysis shows that only 59 questionnaires items from the overall 65 items are valid for the assessment. All of the assessment items on communication skills, leadership and teamwork questionnaires obtained high reliability value which is r = .93.

8 | 2019 article | Attribute assessment instrument on information management and lifelong learning skills among UPSI Students in Faculty of Sports Science and Coaching Zulakbal Abd Karim This study attempts to design a questionnaire for attribute assessment instrument on information management and lifelong learning skills among students at the Faculty of Sports Science and Coaching, Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). Three variables are used to measure the attributes of information management and lifelong learning skills, among which are finding and managing various forms of information, autonomous learning and curious minds. A total of 212 Sports Science students were selected as the study sample. The study analysis uses Cronbach's alpha to obtain reliability of the instrument. Factor analysis is used to obtain validity of the attribute assessment instrument on information management and lifelong learning skills. Based on factor analysis, the findings showed that 54 questionnaire items are valid from the overall 60 items constructed. All questionnaire items obtained high reliability value which is r = .93.

9 | 2019 article | Pre-competitive anxiety of Malaysian Premier League and University Football Players Zulakbal Abd Karim This study aimed to identify the level of state anxiety among football players of a Malaysian premier league and a university football players. This study involved 40 players aged between 18 to 32 years old. The questionnaire used in this study was Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 Reverse Survey (CSAI-2R) to measure the level of athlete's somatic anxiety, cognitive anxiety and self-confidence. The findings showed that the premier league players has a lower level of somatic and cognitive anxiety than the university players. Premier league players also were shown to have higher levels of self-confidence. Based on the findings, experience and achievement level are the contributing factors in determining the level of anxiety and increasing self-confidence. 10 | 2019 article | The anxiety level of Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) football players during the Higher Education Institution (IPT) Championship League 2018 Zulakbal Abd Karim The purpose of this study is to evaluate the temporary anxiety level among the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) football players during the Higher Education Institution (IPT) Championship League 2018. The inventory for this research is ‘Competitive State Anxiety Inventory– 2 (CSAI – 2)’ which has been implemented on 25 people. Their anxiety level is obtained through the mean value and the standard deviation using the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test from the ‘Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences Version 11.5 (SPSS+11.5)’. The findings of this research show that the temporary anxiety level of the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) football players increases when it is closer to the match. 7 days before the actual match, the mean score range which is the anxiety cognitive mean is 21.36.
