Kanak-kanak prasekolah di Malaysia mempunyai peluang untuk mengikuti kurikulum pendidikan awal kanak-kanak yang mengandungi elemen kemahiran penguasaan motor halus melalui pembelajaran kemahiran menulis pelbagai jenis aksara. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkaitan prestasi kemahiran ketepatan motor halus dan kemahiran menulis aksara Jawi dalam kalangan kanak-kanak prasekolah dan mencadangkan komponen utama pembangunan instrumen ujian kemahiran menulis jawi. Seramai 22 orang kanak-kanak (11 lelaki, 11 perempuan) berumur antara 5 hingga 6 tahun dari sebuah tadika terpilih telah terlibat dalam kajian ini. Setiap kanak-kanak menjalani ujian Ketepatan Motor Halus dari Instrumen Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOTMP-2) dan Ujian Kemahiran Tulisan Jawi.
