Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini dijalankan untuk meninjau pengaruh platform media digital iaitu media sosial dan permainan video terhadap tahap kecerdasan emosi dalam kalangan pelajar Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dang Anum, Merlimau, Melaka Kajian ini mengandungi dua objektif kajian iaitu mengenalpasti hubugan media sosial dan permainan video terhadap tahap kecerdasan emosi pelajar. Responden kajian terdiri daripada 278 orang pelajar daripada Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dang Anum. Instrumen yang telah digunakan di dalam kajian ini adalah satu set soalan soal selidik. Soal selidik ini terbahagi kepada 3 bahagian, bahagian A adalah untuk mendapatkan maklumat latar belakang responden. Bahagian B dan C mengandungi item-item yang berkaitan dengan persoalan kajian. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) Version 21 untuk mendapatkan min, kekerapan, peratusan dan korelasi pearson. Kajian rintis dijalankan untuk melihat kebolehpercayaan dan kesesuaian soal selidik. Manakala Alpha Cronbach digunakan untuk mengukur ketekalan dalaman soal selidik. Nilai kebolehpercayaan Alpha Cronbach bagi media sosial ialah 0.74, permainan video adalah 0.86 manakala tahap kecerdasan emosi ialah 0.80. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan min bagi media sosial adalah 3.22, permainan video adalah 2.59 dan tahap kecerdasan emosi adalah 3.30. Hasil daripada analisis deskriptif yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahawa tahap kecerdasan emosi pelajar pada tahap sederhana. Hasil daripada analisi korelasi pearson menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara media sosial dengan tahap kecerdasan emosi. Selain itu, hasil kajian juga menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara permainan video dengan tahap kecerdasan emosi. Oleh itu, kajian ini dapat memberi pengetahuan kepada individu tentang pengaruh platform media digital yang dapat memberi kesan kepada tahap kecerdasan emosi individu.
