Komunikasi visual merupakan antara bidang pendidikan yang telah terdedah sejak zaman dahulu lagi. Orang Asli telah terdedah dengan komunikasi visual dalam bentuk simbol dan lukisan melalui nenek moyang mereka dan hal ini berlaku secara informal dalam kalangan Orang Asli. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk meneroka proses penghasilan simbol bagi sumpit yang merupakan salah satu perniagaan kecil-kecilan yang diusahakan oleh komuniti Orang Asli. Tujuan kajian dijalankan adalah untuk menghasilkan simbol bagi membantu mengembangkan perniagaan mereka melalui pengvisualan identiti menggunakan simbol supaya lebih dikenali masyarakat luar. Kawasan kajian adalah bertempat di Kampung Orang Asli Batu 12, Gombak, Selangor. Beberapa kaedah telah digunakan antaranya kaedah temu bual secara kumpulan berfokus bersama Orang Asli yang dipilih, kaedah literatur dan pemerhatian di lapangan yang didokumentasi menggunakan catatan, gambar, video dan audio. Data-data telah dikumpul dan dianalisis, mengeluarkan tiga elemen utama mengvisualkan simbol sumpit secara digital iaitu sumpit, damak dan pergerakan damak keluar dari sumpit (movement). Elemen-elemen ini ditemukan berlandas kepada kemahiran informal dalam diri Orang Asli. Perkongsian pengalaman dan pengetahuan mengenai sumpit, simbol dan kehidupan Orang Asli, telah berlaku secara spontan dan tidak berstruktur di antara Orang Asli dan masyarakat luar. Harapan pengkaji agar kajian yang dijalankan dapat menjadi rujukan dan membantu Orang Asli dalam konteks mengvisualkan identiti perniagaan kecil-kecilan seni warisan mereka sebagai suatu tanda dagangan (trademark) untuk mengembangkan perniagaan Orang Asli dan lebih dikenali masyarakat luar.
