Penguatkuasaan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) untuk membendung penularan COVID-19 mengubah dengan sekelip mata tatacara kehidupan dalam masyarakat. Bidang pendidikan tidak terkecuali. Pembelajaran dalam talian diperkenalkan di peringkat persekolahan rendah, menengah hingga pendidikan tinggi. Tatkala para pendidik dan pelajar disogokkan dengan pelbagai terma dan pelantar pembelajaran yang berlandaskan aplikasi teknologi maklumat, timbul persoalan bagaimana praktikum perlu dilaksanakan? Amnya praktikum memerlukan para pelajar menjalani latihan mengajar di institusi pendidikan dan ia turut melibatkan penyeliaan oleh guru pembimbing yang dianggap sebagai mewakili industri. Artikel ini membincangkan perspektif perlaksanaan praktikum dalam tempoh PKP susulan arahan penutupan institusi pendidikan dan larangan pembelajaran bersemuka. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk (a) membandingkan tahap penerimaan pelajar dan pensyarah terhadap penyetaraan praktikum, dan (b) menilai pencapaian hasil pembelajaran berdasarkan praktikum alternatif. Data kajian diperoleh melalui soal selidik dalam talian melibatkan pelajar program pendidikan peringkat diploma dan sarjana muda di sebuah universiti swasta dan pensyarah yang menyelia para pelajar berkenaan. Hasil kajian mendapati praktikum alternatif dalam tempoh PKP akan hanya dapat dijayakan sekiranya para pelajar, pensyarah dan pihak industri memahami hasil pembelajaran praktikum dan strategi penyetaraan. Praktikum alternatif menawarkan perspektif baharu terhadap pengayaan kurikulum, hubungan institusi pendidikan – industri dan ukuran kesediaan pelajar terhadap kerjaya pendidikan. Artikel ini turut membincangkan implikasi pelaksanaan praktikum alternatif dan cadangan-cadangan penambahbaikan.
