Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Kajian ini bertujuan mengkaji hubungan antara status hidrasi, tahap pengetahuan hidrasi dan jumlah pengambilan minuman sepanjang latihan dalam kalangan pemain bola sepak UPSI. Seramai 25 orang peserta lelaki berumur 22.3 ±1.1 tahun, tinggi 1.7 ± 0.1m, berat badan 63.3 ± 8.9kg dan BMI 22.2 ±2.5kg/m2 telah menyertai kajian ini selama tiga hari. Status hidrasi dinilai sebelum latihan dengan menggunakan carta warna urin dan ‘Urine Specific Gravity’ (USG). Jumlah pengambilan minuman dan pengeluaran peluh dicatatkan. Peserta menjawab borang soal selidik tentang demografi dan pengetahuan hidrasi pada hari terakhir latihan. Analisis deskriptif iaitu min, sisihan piawai, kekerapan serta peratus digunakan bagi menganalisis status hidrasi, pengetahuan hidrasi dan jumlah pengambilan minuman peserta. ‘Pearson Correlation’ digunakan bagi menganalisis hubungan antara status hidrasi, pengetahuan hidrasi dan jumlah pengambilan minuman dalam kalangan peserta. Status hidrasi peserta kajian menunjukkan mereka mengalami dehidrasi sepanjang tiga hari latihan. Seramai 64% daripada peserta kajian mempunyai pengetahuan hidrasi yang baik dan memuaskan. Jumlah kehilangan peluh ketika latihan lebih banyak berbanding pengambilan minuman sepanjang tempoh tiga hari latihan. Hubungan korelasi menunjukkan bahawa warna urin terhadap skor pengetahuan hidrasi mempunyai korelasi yang sangat rendah dan berarah negatif (r = -.099, p = .639) manakala korelasi di antara USG dan skor pengetahuan hidrasi adalah rendah dan berarah negatif (r = -.206, p = .324). Manakala korelasi di antara warna urin dan jumlah pengambilan minuman adalah signifikan dan mempunyai nilai korelasi yang sederhana (r = .424, p = .035). Korelasi di antara USG dan jumlah pengambilan minuman adalah rendah dan tidak signifikan (r = .213 p = .308). Korelasi antara skor pengetahuan hidrasi dan jumlah pengambilan minuman pula adalah sangat rendah dan tidak signifikan (r = .031, p = .883). Kesimpulannya, diharapkan dapatan kajian dapat meningkatkan kesedaran terhadap status hidrasi sebelum latihan dijalankan, meningkatkan pengetahuan hidrasi serta jumlah pengambilan minuman yang betul dan tepat dalam kalangan pemain semasa latihan dijalankan bagi meningkatkan prestasi latihan pemain.
