Abstract : Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris
Objektif kajian ini bertujuan menentukan tahap pengupayaan pengetua, tahap kepimpinan dan tahap prestasi kerja ketua panitia serta mengenal pasti perbezaan kepimpinan dan prestasi kerja ketua panitia berdasarkan jantina dan pengalaman mengajar. Kajian ini juga bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pengupayaan dan dimensi pengupayaan terhadap kepimpinan dan prestasi kerja ketua panitia di sekolah menengah di negeri Pahang. Seramai 278 orang ketua panitia dari 39 buah sekolah menengah di negeri Pahang telah dipilih sebagai responden kajian dengan menggunakan kaedah rawak bersrata. Instrumen Empowerment Indicator Survey, Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ 5X) dan Prestasi Kerja digunakan dalam kajian ini. Perisian SPSS 23 dan SmartPLS 3.0 digunakan bagi melaksanakan analisis kajian ini. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa ketiga-tiga pemboleh ubah berada tahap tinggi (pengupayaan, 4.208; kepimpinan,4.000; prestasi kerja, 4.121). Analisis mendapati tidak terdapat perbezaan antara kepimpinan transformasi dan prestasi kerja berdasarkan jantina. Analisis ANOVA menunjukkan pengalaman mengajar tidak memberi perbezaan terhadap kepimpinan ketua panitia (F (2,275) = 0.167, p ˃ 0.05) sebaliknya memberi perbezaan kepada prestasi kerja ketua panitia F (2,275) = 3.383, p < 0.05. Analisis PLS-SEM pula mendapati terdapat pengaruh positif yang signifikan antara pengupayaan dengan kepimpinan (β = 0.383, t = 7.321, p < 0.05) dan pengupayaan dengan prestasi kerja (β = 0.439, t = 8.614, p < 0.05). Dimensi membina motivasi di bawah pengupayaan dikenal pasti sebagai pengaruh utama terhadap kepimpinan transformasi dan prestasi kerja ketua panitia. Analisis juga mendapati amalan pengupayaan pada median rendah menyebabkan kualiti kepimpinan transformasi ketua panitia merosot tetapi tidak memberi kesan kepada prestasi kerja mereka. Mana kala pengupayaan yang diamalkan pada median yang tinggi mempengaruhi kualiti kepimpinan transformasi dan prestasi kerja ketua panitia. Berdasarkan dapatan kajian, jelas menunjukkan pengupayaan yang dilakukan oleh pengetua memberi impak kepada peningkatan kepimpinan dan prestasi kerja ketua panitia kerana mereka mampu mengembangkan kecekapan dan meningkatkan kemahiran profesional mereka sebagai pemangkin kecemerlangan pelajar dan sekolah. Implikasi kajian ini mencadangkan amalan pengupayaan diamalkan dan menjadi budaya sekolah dalam meningkatkan prestasi kerja ketua panitia.
