Abstract :
Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk menentukan keberkesanan Pendekatan Pengajaran Berasaskan Otak (PPBO) dalam meningkatkan motivasi pembelajaran Sains pelajar (dengan berfokuskan kepada tajuk Konsep dan Mekanisme Fotosintesis yang terkandung dalam sukatan pelajaran Biologi Tingkatan Empat). Kajian berbentuk kuasi eksperimen ini melibatkan sampel yang terdiri daripada 140 orang pelajar tingkatan empat dari dua buah sekolah jenis kebangsaan Cina di Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. Data yang diperolehi melalui pentadbiran Soal Selidik Motivasi Pembelajaran Sains dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensi menggunakan ujian-t sampel bebas. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa Pendekatan Pengajaran Berasaskan Otak berkesan dalam meningkatkan motivasi pembelajaran sains pelajar. Didapati bahawa kumpulan pelajar yang mengikuti Pendekatan Pengajaran Berasaskan Otak mempunyai motivasi pembelajaran sains yang lebih baik berbanding dengan kumpulan pelajar yang menerima pengajaran secara konvensional.
