Abstract : Perpustakaan Tuanku Bainun |
This book presents a course for beginner viola players. It will guide you in learning the alto clef and obtaining the basic experience required to manage bow strokes with note values and primary rhythmic patterns.
This book contains twenty children’s folk songs from the following states in Malaysia: Sarawak, Sabah, Kedah, Perlis, Perak, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Sembilan, along with instructions for sequentially learning finger placement on the viola fingerboard.
In addition, each song is supported with an exercise specially created to strengthen your confidence while learning notes in the alto clef, the value length of notes, and the placement of each finger on specific strings. All songs and exercises are supported with video demo recordings, which can be accessed via QR codes. The piano accompaniment for each song is provided at the end of the book, and there are audio-recorded backing tracks, which are also accessible via QR codes.
We recommend that you develop and strengthen your playing abilities by building the habit of following a particular sequence of actions when learning a new étude or song.
The sequence is as follows:
1.Listen to the demo video recording (accessed via a QR code) or the teacher’s demonstration before playing the piece yourself.
2.Sing and clap the pulse along with the demo video recording.
3.Try to play the piece by yourself by counting the beats in your mind and following the pitch of notes with which you are already familiar from the previous steps of listening and clapping along to the melody |
